this unit comes with no instructions unfortunately. Hopefully someone that owns one can help me out. The charger appear to plug into the middle of the baton, but only inserts about half way into the charging hole. Green light on the charger is on whether its plugged into the baton or not. How do you know when it is charging, and when it is fully charged
 
Again, back to my stun cane. Press the button, zap zap, scares anything nearby for animals. It is a formidable cane as well. Keeps me upright. Honestly if you want some safe gear for moving about your neighbourhood, I dint see the problem.

Yes, the charger only inserts half way into the baton. The first one I got had different instructions than the latest. Do not overcharge. I had 4 that showed green only, charged 3-4 hrs, then only 1 hrs every 3 months, or if light goes dim (charge 3-4 hrs ). I had 1 show orange, and 1 show red, charged them for 7-8 hrs.
Read up on this battery type, you can buy a battery tester &/or charger on ebay for cheap. The instructions with the new batch say to charge for 10-12 hrs, for the first charge, the older one's insructions said 3-4 hrs, though each will have a different level of charge. From what I've read that is too much charge time(10-12hrs)
 
I definitely want to see some drunken stun baton tag.

But I'll be honest. I intended to test my stun came on myself when I got it but chickened out. When you fire that thing up, whew!, it's like a bug light on nuclear power.

As soon as I triggered it, my dogs would run away. Afterwards, you can smell something in the air, maybe ozone, created by the electricity arcing through the air.

Whatever it is, it gives me a clear sense not to mess with it.
