MagnetoSpeed Chrono on the way!!

Congrats. Let us know how it work. I was looking at those as well. Trying to now decide between a MagnetoSpeed and the LabRadar

I have the Magnetospeed sporter its handier than pockets in your under ware, fits into my shooting bag attaches in seconds. I checked mine over a Chrony 10-15 fps + (could be the 12' distance to muzzle) either they are both right or both wrong.

Its perfect for checking loads after development or the establish a max load range.

I love my MagnetoSpeed Chrony. I had an Oehler 35 - it was great but the size of it and the time to set it up was a PITA so I sold it after comparing it to the MagnetoSpeed. Accuracy was very close between them and it was a 100x's easier to strap on the MagnetoSpeed at the range instead of having to wait until the range was safe to change targets etc so I could set up the Oehler. Maybe if I was spending my weekends at shooting competitions I would need to added accuracy but for my purposes the MagnetoSpeed for the $$ is fantastic

Just used my magneto speed for the first time today. Tested some 223 and 308 loads. Once I figured out placement on the barrel, it worked flawlessly. Took some figuring to get the bayonet tight on the barrel as heavier recoil seemed to move it a bit. I really have no complaints. I was set up beside a guy with a cheaper standard chrony and he was having a hell of a time with it. I just strapped mine to the barrel and off I went.

What is the max speed that these units can read??? Anyone know??? Or is there a limit..... Lab radar has a limit of 3900 fps... And it's good don't get me wrong but I shoot a fast .220 swift and have a load. That I'm guessing is around 4250... To 4450 fps ya it's a hot one.... I wanna buy one buy it's still in the early stages????? Any input would be great thanks folks

The thing that I like is that you can be set up and shooting in under 2 minutes.

ordered a magneto speed received it then decided to go big sent it back and just received my Lab radar have not had time to get to the range do to rain and wind but looking forward to it may be Sunday picking up new smoke shooter from my gun smith on Saturday so if the stars a line Sunday may happen. good luck and enjoy

Luckily the LabRadar isn't effected by wind or rain. Just don't let it get wet.

Nope, as the radar needs to feel the muzzle blast. I was placing the unit like they say to do on a braked rifle and it wasn't working. I had to line up muzzle (no brake, 308win) with the unit then it finally activated and tracked the projectile.

However if you switch the trigger from internal mics, to doppler it will detect any projectile in its beam. Obviously this is only useful if your using a bow or very very very quiet/slow rifle.
