best rings for a tikka t3 338 win mag

Just curious what everybody's using I was thinking about getting the Optilock but I see there's a lot more options. I will be running at Leupold vx2 3-9x40.

also what height would I need

I emailed Talley on options for my rifle and scope and they were back to me in just a few hours with their recommendations including style and height.

Lightweight on a 338 win mag is ok or would the steel be better

I have the same gun and scope. My first set of rings (they were the ones that clamp onto the dovetail) broke from the recoil of the 338 in the T3. Have Talley one piece rings on mine and they have held up for a few hundred rounds so far.

Leupold bases and rings will stand up to any recoil and you are going to have recoil.

It's a pretty light rifle so my inclination would be to go with a set of Talley Lightweights.
