Thanks. Yes it's brand new. I bought it online. I have emailed the photos to the dealer and see what they say.

That's my first thought.

I can't remember how it came honestly, but I've shot the #### out if it and it shows wear on moving parts and the muzzle/crown....
I did get a new M&P that had some visible tool marks on the rifling... Made no difference in shooting and after a few thousand rounds they have pretty much smoothed right out.

I own the same gun, and it does not look anything like that.
I have ran a good 1000 rounds plus thru it and not only the barrel but the gun still looks brand new.
I would get it exchanged.

Looks like some pretty poor finishing...exchange or cash back...personally I wouldn't be happy with that...

My surplus Beretta 92's barrel is in better shape than that.

Strange, and it has nothing to do with it not being a $1000 gun, its really no different then a beretta. I'd try and take it back. Doesn't look like that should be happening.
