Just bought this beauty a couple weeks ago brand new at Ukranian Tire. Mounted an older Bausch and Lomb 5-15x50 and a Caldwell bipod. Sad thing is I still haven't shot it...

Beautiful rig! What type of savage is this? I'm in the market for a new rifle and I'm sorta torn but I really like this!

This is a savage model 10 FCP-SR. This model has been discontinued and was replaced with the newer model that doesn't have the bottom metal and the stock is of cheaper quality. The rifle is a champ for the price, I'm really impressed with it.

Doesn't have the bottom metal you say? How do you mean? Well that's unfortunate that they stopped making them in that configuration.. If you don't mind me asking, what's the price tag on something like that

Doesn't have the bottom metal = blind mag, no hinged floorplate....

That's what I thought but I wasn't sure, just wanted to clarify. Thanks for the info man, while I've got your attention haha what are your thoughts on the blind mag? I assume you can get aftermarket stocks for this rifle and similar ones like the hog hunter to give you the ability to have DBM?
Thanks
Josh

Big aftermarket money for a quick clip setup etc..... And a new stock...... I don't mind blind mags..... Just need to ensure they are unloaded in the woods as the only way to do so is to cycle the action..... As to the range, non issue, because who loads what they arent going to shoot?....

Wow Superbrad...stick to giving Ruger advice lol!

The 10 FCP-SR had some changes yes, but it still comes with a large detachable mag. And the stock being worse...well its not camo but they both got tupperware stocks.

I believe he was referring to this comment.

I get that....but it comes with A bottom metal. Just not the same one as last year. Where superbrad came up with blindmag? Only he knows.
