Deactivated Fal price range

Ill be in the market for a deactivaed FAL soon and I am wondering what a good price for them are, from what I see on the internet they go between $800-$1500. Is this a higher then normal value for them?

Sadly about 5 times more than a live one. It was like that at a auction once. Live MG42 sold for $1200, dewat MG42 sold for $4200.

I think Epps has some various 'live' FAL rifles in stock too. Not sure what they charge to deactivate something though.

Yet the demand for welded up paper weights with high prices continues to convince unscrupulous owners (my opinion) to destroy their live ones to service this market.
