What is your most recent rifle purchase?

I recently acquired a 1954 Marlin 336SC in 32 winchester Special that had a broken forearm and buttstock. I replaced them with a set of laminate stocks that were taken off a 2014 336BL.

Just bought a Puma M92 Trapper in 44mag for my sons 9th birthday in March just sent the emt a few minutes ago.

We do a lot of remote wilderness camping and he gets to wonder around camp figured instead of him packing his T/C Contender carbine in 10mm or 410 or his lever action Browning BL22 he would be better off with a lever action with some thump.

Oh man ! I can't believe that he is 9 already ! How time flys .
Can you post a pic of him holding that fine rifle ?

Was the bob brought up from the states?..... I can't find that model anywhere.....

I currently have two... one slated for reaming to 7X57, just cuz I want an Ultralight in 7X57, plus working on another MKII UL for my 7.62X57 project... couldn't bring myself to molest a new No.1-RSI 7X57 with nice wood. All three of these are on the import trail brutally funded by my anorexic wallet.

Scary isn't it how time flies.

Hadn't thought about posting a pic that is a good idea EMT was accepted rifle should be on its way today but his birthday is not for another 4 weeks will give me time to replace the butt stock with my shortened to fit him stock that I took off my 20" barreled Puma M92 in 454 Casull.

Also give me a chance to see exactly what 44 mag ammo/components I have stashed away in my Princess Auto tool bag.

Finally checked my 44mag ammo bag and was pleasantly surprised to find I have at least 400 - 500 rounds loaded and enough components to load another 700 - 800 rounds.

Oh yeah my boy is going to be one happy camper... :)

The gift that keeps on giving...

Any gift that encourages my kids to actively participate in outdoor pursuits, I consider an investment... of the "Mastercard commercial" type.

Not the best of pics but here he is with his new to him used Puma M92 Trapper in 44mag with a shortened to fit him butt stock.

I'm as I expected with these Puma rifles having some feed issues working on OAL and crimp rounds jam at the bullet/crimp when it is entering the chamber.

I've been messing with some dummy rounds seating them as deep as I can and giving a healthy crimp with my Lee carbide factory crimp die this has helped a lot but it still jams just as the bullets/crimp start to enter the chamber on 1 out of 3 tries.

The ammo is not jammed in the gun just won't let it enter the chamber.

Anyway here is one super happy young man.

I'm thinking he is going to be a lot taller than me his mom is 5'10" I'm 6'2" my wife's dad is 6'6" my boy is built just like his grandpa.

He's getting ready for bed now but he has had three dummy rounds to play with tonight = he hasn't put the rifle down all evening.

He'll probably take it to bed tonight...
