Hi,

I own a decent Mossberg 500 combo kit from Cabelas in 2014. I payed $325 for the 28" vented barrel with fixed mod choke and the 18.5" cylinder choke barre combo. Not too shabby. They seems to sell that combo kit for $459. The only big issue with the cheap combo kit is that the forearm is of the riveted variety. So hard to replace it.

Now, I'm not a hunter, I use the 18"5 barrel to shoot 00 buck and slugs at the range. The brass bead is a little bend out of alignment. I'm thinking bringing it to a smith. any replacement bead that would be more Tactical, better visibility? Is it cheap to have it replaced? I mean it seems that a small wrench could get the actual bead unscrewed and I possibly buy myself a bead and do it myself? Are the bead threads standard?

Need advices plz!

Good morning to you sir, hopefully other than a crooked front sight on your shotgun this finds you well.

Lately I've been really liking the Tru-Glo Fat Bead which I've been able to get from Western Gun Parts in Edmonton. The only fly in the ointment there might be that they have a minimum order so you might want to have something else in mind too when you phone. Typically I pick up something like a Decelerator recoil pad at the same time as there's no end of folks wanting one installed.

Anyway here's what they look like installed on a Lakefield Mossberg barrel.

If you go with any other type of sight on a shotgun I highly recommend a test fit to see how it all lines up, then when you're happy with the fit, degrease it all and epoxy it in place. Now I even put a dab of epoxy on the sides of the fiber optic rod - just because...

Good luck whichever way you decide sir and all the best to you folks.

Meprolight makes a nice tritium night sight for the Mossberg , I have them on 2 of mine , Big white dot in the daylight , green glowing dot in low light and no light .
Picked mine up from Brownells .

Do your Meprolight sights replace a factory bead or the Mossberg "rifle-style" sight?
Photos would be nice.

Very nice!

I'm pass thru Edmonton this summer, I'll pick something like that on site!

I have 2 kind , one is just a "bead" and the other are for Mossberg Ghost Ring Sights , the one for the GRS one is no bigger or fatter then the factory one.

Which shotty is that on the left? I have a fetish for front post on shotties.

I just ordered an Asil bulldog with a front post, dunno if its great yet, but the price is pretty good!
