I may have the opportunity to purchase a 68-69 Browning A5 twenty Gauge 3". What is a reasonable price to pay depending on shape of the gun. This is all I have for pictures.

Your help is appreciated.

She don't have the round knawbie..........proceed with caution.

Vent ribs arr purty to look at, function I suppose is between the ears.

Value is what you are happy to spend. $500 would be a steal.
A $1000 would be up to you.
Pick a number in between.
Duzz she work?

Ok, I'll bite. Round Knawbie?? WTH?

Apparently yes it does shoot and cycle. It's from a brother of a buddy not sure if he's shot it since he bought it from an old guy who hadn't shot it in years. Have to wait to talk to him on Friday.

The round knob old A5's seem to have a more, more, heck, more lust?
Then again, this gal is configured in a 20 gauge, so the nawb
I suppose is mute.

I edited the title as this is supposed to be a Magnum 20, and not %100 sure if this helps or detracts from value. Based on what I have read, unmolested in good shape and not converted to steel shot it should be in t 7-800 range give or take?

Thanks for clarification, Looky- After doing a bunch more research I though that what it might be, but was still awaiting your response1

LOL! Looky - You do have a way of placing things weirdly into perspective. That pistol grip stock looks fine compared to the usual PoW type stock that a member here had once referred to as the "limp ####" grip (pun intended). :)

The A5 Magnums or 3" gives you more options with ammo.
$700+ would be a decent deal on that gal.
I shudder when I see them for over a g-note.
Might be worth it, but not to me.

With any luck, you'll end up with the Modified/Ribbed barrel..................:bigHug:
That is, if it's an option.

I believe the magnum twenty was introduced in 1967 and was only built with a "round knob" or prince of whales style stock for 67 and 68 in 69 it was produced with the traditional pistol grip stock you have, the barrel being a jap barrel hurts the value considerably, also hurts value if it comes with the plain barrel. The crack also doesnt help, i wouldnt pay much over 550 600 max with the description you have given us and pictures, if it was all original with belgium vent rib barrel no cracks would be around the 1000 range give or take. I have the identical gun from 69 mine is original with no cracks and it came with a mod vent rib and a ic plain barrel and i paid 950 tax in, just to give you an idea
