Hello I am new to the AR-15 obsession, just picked up a bushmaster and I am looking at upgrading the hand guard immediately. I am looking at a free floating quad rail around 13-15 inches in length.

I am having a hard time finding dealers that sell a decent quad rail for a decent price. From what I have found is high end stuff like Daniel defense and a few others that want like 300 plus for a quad rail. I see lots of guys on the net have used utg guards and they are made with quality material and have no installation issues. My question is where can I find Canadian distributors for awesome AR parts and accessories?

Thanks Jim

Personally I would forego on the quad rail as it is not in Vogue any longer. Check out CTC and some of the sponsors for free floating slim line M-Lok fore ends that are more comfortable and lighter then what you seek. Most quality slim fore ends have the capability to add a few items via M-Lok or KeyMod type fasteners.

Alg m lok rail. Reputable manufacturer, but their budget line. Mlok is a better option than quad rail. Easier to grip, lighter, but can still take all accessories. Likely IMO to be the winner in the railmod wars.

Many competition shooters and sports shooters have dropped quad rails because of the weight. MLOK and Keymod are the "next-gen" of handguard systems. Lightweight, modular and compatible with most pic rail accessories.

We offer a lightweight handguard in both a keymod and MLOK systems in 10.5", 12" and 15" around the $300 range

Get on the EE!

There was a nice Geissele and low pro gas block combo there earlier today

i sold that last night. its no longer available :p

For the OP, you can't go wrong with Midwest Industries for the price/quality you get. I have one of their rails on my MK47 mutant. Its fantastic.

I would recommend the BCM KMR 13. It's slim, strong and the lightest one out there. I also bought mine from CTCS. I have seen a few on EE as well.

^^^^ Agreed 100%. I'm an engineer, and the way this mounts is a mild PITA to do, but is very smart and ensures a reasonable torque on the system. The most basic model with a straight tube of MLOK goodness is less than 2 bills for 12" and just a bit over for 15". And solid as all get out.

You are new to the AR, just picked up your first, but you want to change the handguard immediately? You want a 13-15 inch rail, how do you know it's what you need?

My suggestion is to go to the range and shoot the gun as-is, for a while, at least 500 rounds, THEN when you have a good feel of it you will know what you like or don't like and need to change, IF you need to change anything, to better suit your shooting habits.
