3 gun pistol(s)

With a striker fired gun there is no requirement to do anything to the pistol. That's where they can have a bit of an advantage, compared to hammer guns where you have to put the safety on.

But as with any 3gun rule discussion, rules vary by match so the above isn't always true.

Almost no one chucks guns into dump bins. Placing a gun in a dump bin is no faster or slower with a gun that has a hammer. It very quickly becomes second nature to flick on a handgun safety as the arm moves towards to the dump bin. It takes zero extra time.

And damn...that DVC 3 gun looks awesome....too bad its so pricey.

You left the back of Mr. Sub and are now at Denny's?

Back to the topic at hand, my first 2 matches in 3 gun were run using my Shadow. Zero issues and running in condition 1 isn't a problem. I ran the next 3 with my Sig 226 which has no external safety, so it was DA/SA every time. I've used by Glock and will move to my PPQ next time, and having the striker fired is as much of an issue as the Shadow (i.e. zero).

It's more important to use a pistol you are accurate with under stress and pressure (i.e. while on the clock) than a certain "type" of pistol.
