Most accurate Semi-Auto 223 Non-Restricted

I went out yesterday and did some shooting with my sl8. Best group at 300m was 3.4 inches with most of them at 4 inches. This was my first time shooting for groups past 100m.

I also tried out my new magneto speed v3. My ES and ED not so good for accuracy. ES was 100 fps on 10 shots. ED around 50fps. I load on a Dillon 550b for 223. I know sometimes if I not careful I get powder spillage when turning press. I'll have to look in to my load and process.

Overall I'm happy with performance.

That is great anything built by H&K is a good bet :)
I am glad you are happy with your new rifle nothing worse than buying a new rifle getting out to the range and deciding you really don't like it I think many of us have been there , my biggest issue with the SL8 was its weight I was on over 800 acres of land when I owned the SL8 and with a really big coyote problem and provincial bounty I almost always had a rifle with me the SL8 was not the rifle for such a purpose but set up in the blind it was coyote Killing machine !

Conga rats! 1.3 MOA is good! You can hit a brain at 500m with that (wait, did I say that? Train, I meant TRAIN!) What ammo were you using? Factory loads (cheap or premium), once-fired reloads, your own handloads? If the latter, I'm pretty sure you'll eventually find a combo of bullet weight and powder that will improve the results you already have. :)

Damn I'm getting tempted to splurge for the SL8...

Handload with 69 smk and 8208 powder. I have some cfe223 to experiment with as well. Now that I have magneto speed I can work on better numbers

You know, I almost bought a chrono last week, and then realized that while I am curious about the speed of the bullet, it's really got not that much to do with whether it's consistent at landing always on my POA. I'm sure I'll get one eventually, but I'll wait a bit. I've already spent over $1500 on setting up for reloading this season (that figure includes everything from the workbench to the manuals to the press, dies, tools, wet tumbler and a nice 1000 rounds of IMI 124gr FMJ 9mm that I'll be shooting and reloading many, many times). :)

Chronograph is nice to have. Not a need but can really help out with loads. I will use this Magnetospeed much more than my Chrony. Easier to use.

The Sl8 is in my opinion modified or not the most accurate .223 Rifle you can purchase off the shelf as is , I never had a bone stock rifle but the rifle I had was largely altered cosmetically it was amazing and very well built rifle worth every penny .

You might change your mind if you had a Swiss Arms to shoot side by side. In any event accurate rifles are what really count not which one is better than the other but just the one in your hands. Phil.

I handled a Swiss Arms for the first time today (had only handled Famae's before) , super comfy to handle, well balanced... I found the safety however very hard to get at using my thumb or trigger finger. Love the oval shape pattern of the forend, reminds me of my SVD/SVT-40, super comfy. Its trigger seemed about on par with a high quality AR trigger.

Also handled a ACR once again, all around awesome, only complaint is the enhance rail forend is much to complex, and poky for my liking.

If Prime Minister "Turdeau" keeps his hands out of it, choosing between these 2 rifles could prove to be a difficult decision; but unfortunately a decision I cant afford to make for some timeV:I:

If you like the Swiss Arms platform then keep your eyes open for a decent used one in the mid $2000 range. As I noted earlier there may not be many "sniper" versions around but there are lots of non restricted SA and clones kicking around. These rifles are nearly as accurate in the standard format and a good scope is well worth the effort to end up with a very accurate package that is similar to many higher end AR15 builds without being restricted. Phil.
I disagree, the sniper is much more accurate than any other version was/is, I had the classic, carbine and CQB all at the same time to compare.

I am personally leaning to purchasing a ATRS MV but for those who are considering ACR and don't want to convert it to NR, there is the ACR DMR. IF Bushmaster ever gets their new plant sorted out maybe the ACR DMR will finally get produced after two years of everyone waiting.
I would rather see the caliber conversions they promised to release years ago back when the ACR design was first made public. The DMR will be a few years behind the caliber kits still

the ACR has the most potential to overtake the AR in popularity if it could just get the support and comparative pricing.
definitely in Canada due to it's NR status. It's big bore caliber conversion ability makes it the only truly customizable modern sporting rifle for big game hunters and sport shooters alike.

In the USA the AR can be used in the woods and for hunting so it is less likely it's following will overtake the AR as there is no incentive for shooters to switch

Do not get your hopes up, Bushmaster has a long record of saying alot about the ACR and never actually fullfilling their promises. For this reason, many believe Bushmaster is on the verge of dropping the ACR as a failed line.
But that they didn't do the conversion kits like they said they would, while true and unfortunate, doesn't in reality lead to the conclusion drawn by those many. Due to reading the same conjecture on the net I inquired very directly, in person with the right person, and was told that the ACR is absolutely not being dropped, and new production at the new facility has already begun.

They did shelve the DMR though.

so we will be seeing factory caliber conversions soon?
