What are your thoughts?? Some clubs are now requiring "factory loads" only for these games. Shot size and weight plus drams of powder. Is it fair or unfair?

Let it fly!!

Makes no sense to me. Can really only give my opinion on this for shooting skeet and there I just see it as costing me a hell of a lot more to shoot rounds than with my reloads with no difference in my scores
Plus pending who is there it would not matter if I was using a 10ga with 2 1/4 oz loads of N0.9 they are still going to kick my ass with the 410 most times
Here classes are not separated for the most part at events like this just don't have enough shooters
Cheers

For any shoot decided by the pellet count in a circle to be fair everyone must use the same ammo. It wouldn't be a challenge to come up with a shell that would give you an edge over factory ammo.

This is how it was always done at our club for a count the pellets on target contest. It's the fair way to do it. I never once heard any complaints. Sounds to me like the whiners are more concerned with hurt feelings than feeling hurt.

If you are talking about shooting paper targets ... we always supplied the shells as part of the entry fee. If you are talking about shooting clay targets ... here in Ontario, shot sizes and velocity are limited (by the CFO) based on the club shot fall limits. When there is cash / prizes on the line, some folks will do anything to win.
