collector source store

i do business with them allot and always good and they will listen to any problems you might have. i had a broken firing pin in a mauser i got from them so they sent a new one and when it didn't work ether they took the part to their gunsmith and he fixed it no charge.
also they do the best and cleanest deactivation work i have seen.

Nothing but good service from them in the past, but yes, it's aimed at collectors willing to part with top dollar who don't want to wait to wade through gun show tables.

Old thread, but I'll re-iterate positive experiences. Some of their prices are ridiculous, but (usually) the higher dollar items are actually priced quite fairly. I purchased a Swiss 1914 Pioneer 'Sawback' bayonet from Collector's Source a year and a bit ago for a price that was quite reasonable and about on par with what I could find it for in America with our rather lukewarm dollar (at the time, it's atrocious now) and import/shipping costs.

I wouldn't buy an SKS or a Mosin from him, but if there was something a little rarer you're after I'd certainly recommend giving their site a look.

Not a good experience here.
What I got was NOT exactly what I paid for.
His response was basically that the gun was "close enough", followed by some lecturing, and an offer of a refund if I paid to return the item which was not as described. I think that's outrageously bad customer-service.

Once bitten, twice shy. Never again would I deal with thus guy.
(BTW, believe it or not, this is my first bad internet purchase of firearms-related items. And I buy lots...)

I have dealt irregularly in the past with Fred. His deactivation work is first class.

My fondest memory was when he arranged the importation of some British Ferrets.

I dropped by his house while he was kitting one up. Off we went for a ride around Acton, he driving, me up top with my arm casually draped over a .30 cal.

Usually, but not always expensive. Lots of members bought "bargain basement, scratch and dent" M44 a few years ago. Most were in pretty good shape; a few disappointed people who expected more than $199 will buy.

If their staff will be posted on EE will stay forever unsold.

Collector's Source has higher prices but they also usually have the best quality available in Canada. I have purchased several items from them only because I knew the likelihood of finding a better example for the price they were asking was remote at best. They make no bones about their prices and guarantee everything they sell.
