I see budget shooter supply has a few molds for sale. Just wondering where in Canada is the best place to purchase? I am looking at lee 6 cavity molds and lyman 4 cavity molds.
Any recommendations on a swc design bullet for 38/357 mag?

If Budget shooter doesn't have the mold, i go to titanreloading in usa, even with shipping from usa it works out about the same as buying in Canada.

I realize that you are stipulating Canadian sources, but in the event that you are not aware.

The Castboolets site has group buys on molds. Most of them come come NOE or Mihec.

These are very nice molds and I have bought several from both in group buys as well as directly from each companies website.

With the dollar being where it is the price won't be very exciting, but I have had no hassles with having them shipped in.

Something to keep in mind if you can't find what you are looking for.

As a heads up the group buys take a very long time sometimes before they close and go to production.

Definitely Higginson's for new LEE. You can buy Lyman moulds direct from Lyman, however, I occasionally see them listed in the EE for pretty decent prices. If I didn't already have a copy in my collection I would've jumped on some of those deals. The Castboolits forum (not a typo) is a great place for group buys on moulds. NOE and Mihec Moulds are much nicer than LEE. The Canadian dollar tanking makes them more expensive right now, but still worth it for certain calibers and designs.

Titan Reloading for anything Lee.
Direct from Lyman for their molds.
NOE for what they make (some very nice hollow-point molds).
Accurate Molds for custom sized molds (all mine have been within .0005" of what I ordered with specified alloy).

I really need to find an excuse to try an NOE mould.

I will not recommend MP Molds (Mihec) to anyone, anymore. Yes, his moulds are still nice but the way he treats his customers is disgraceful. It's too bad it remains taboo to badmouth him on Castboolits, he should have been called out years ago.

I purchased one of his lyman type 12g mold from castboolits and didnt have any probs.

What was the issue you had?

I have 50+ moulds. Most have been picked up used at gun shows, gun shops, auctions ( picked up 4 lots of 4 each at Switzers in Aug) and here on EE. Got some duplicates and some I'll never use to part with somewhere down the road. The few Lee I have were all bought new. Used Lee moulds are usually "beat" I have several old Ideal moulds that cast as well as the day they were made. Not sure when Ideal became Lyman but more than a few years ago.

I really haven't had much issue with him, personally. I think the longest I had to wait for a mould was just around a year, which is only a little longer than anything reasonable. But I have watched as many folks wait 2, 3 or almost 4 years for their group buys to move. As dozens of buys started after the ones still open are completed without explanation. As Miha went from empty responses to requests for updates ("working on it...") to no responses at all. As he also started several buys that nobody asked for apparently just to avoid working on the ones he committed to years ago but now seemingly doesn't want to deal with.

It is my distinct impression he has no sense of responsibility for the projects, or consideration for those involved, or respect for his own promises, or sense of fairness in doing the buys in something close to the order they were accepted, or at least explaining why a buy that is 5 months old and has 30 takers gets priority over a buy that is 2.5 years old and has 80 takers.

It is true that I am not one of those who has been or is being badly screwed, but I have no interest in doing business with somebody like that.

Thanks for the info

I received my mold 2 weeks after payment, I was probably lucky as he had these molds left over from a group buy.

Not Canadian but NOE molds are fantastic. I have this one "360429 168Gr. SWC RG4 cavity PB" comes with hollow point pins or you can use it as a flat nose. I have Lee molds but if you compare side by side you definitely see where the extra cost comes from. It's my 4th NOE mold and each is as awesome as the next.

I have around 15 NOE molds and only ever had a problem with one and Al took care of it right away. Exchanged the mold for me no problem. I'm a member of the $1000 club so I get 10% off all my orders except group buys. However, I can stack the discount on top of "sale items" for some pretty big discounts! Turs out casting isn't any more of a way to save money than reloading is...

Just thought I'd post this here as it has to do with a mold. Was looking for a Lee mold from a local dealer and there was no word on arrival so after reading this thread I called Higginson on Thursday morning. He had the mold in stock so I added another lube sizer I needed to the order and gave him my visa over the phone. Package was waiting for me when I got home from work the next day. They were great on the phone, helpful and quick. What more could ya want.
