Hi There
I have a nice 243 win. that I would like to rechamber to 240 weatherby.
Case head size is the same, Rate of twist is the same so a rechamber should work without to much trouble.
So I am looking for someone with a 240 Weatherby reamer.
Any help would be great.
Thanks Reb

one would have to remove a lot of the 243 chamber, in fact most of it.
The 240 is smaller at the base ahead of the belt.
And, you would require a long action which most 243's are not built on, some exceptions being the Tikka T3, the '64 to late eighties Model 70's, early Savage 110's and a few others.
Consider the 6-284.

No Harold it is a lot more like the older Sako actions
Very well built lots of meat on the bolt and action

Yes, basically all of the 243 chamber is useless... Consider the 6-284.

I do have a .240 WBY. reamer but Rembo and the others are right, you would probably use up to much barrel length chewing out the .243 chamber around the belt area. The .240 Wby. should ultimately be based on a 26" barrel to appreciate it's potential. good luck with all of your projects, they can be a lot of fun.
