NEA Non-Restricted Rifle? "NEA25"

One thing I wanted to point out with regards to the AR308 rifles. Cost isn't the determining factor for accuracy. The DPMS LR-308 target rifles for example are under 2K and can shoot with or outshoot many of the high end stuff. Unless you're buying a high priced specifically designed target rifke like a Les Bauer then more money doesn't mean more accuracy.

If the AR308 rifle is executed properly then the barrel and trigger should be the biggest factors for potential accuracy performance. The current designs based off a regular AR are tried and true. Unless of course something is changed/modified in the design that has an accuracy potential issue. Some piston systems, modified bolts etc are potential examples.

contact the rcmp and the opp, I,m sure they will tell you all about it. also Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Victoria, timmins, Ottawa, winterpeg, SQ, cansofcom ,MNR, ministry of fisheries and oceans Canada and a few others out east that I cant remmember

So I called the following based on who I know.

OPP, my brother in RCMP, MNR here in GTA, and none indicate they use such parts on road/duty specific shotguns.

I'm awaiting Calgary, Edmonton, and my cousin in Ottawa.

My query with TPS, still offers the same answer as back in 2011. That an aftermarket sling mount does not qualify as a bragging right that you supply to LE organizations.

......Cousin in Ottawa got back to me. Road shotguns do not have your product. Aside from maybe slings.

But they are very happy with their NEA mini-cans they use.

Yes you can but add 5% tax,a shipping case and shipping an insurance and you are around $3750 with absolutely no upgrades
strange, just with a lightweight hand guard, stock and light profile barrel i was at $4400 or so when they were first announced, then after taxes, shipping, etc it was knocking on the $5k door.

I believed it was too much for an untested/unproven design at the time. I have not seen many reviews yet either and there are quite a few out there now.

Fantastic news. Would I buy one? Likely no. Not at first anyways. I'll let others test run these things before I get in on one. If they perform well I will have no problem supporting another Canadian company. I have MV on order and will likely add a MH to the collection sometime in the future.

The more the merrier!

The obvious truth is that when lots of affordable rifles are out there it's better for our community. Strength in numbers. If the Simplified Classification system ever gets passed the whole "it's not restricted" thing won't matter- at $5000 or $1500. Except one one will be bought at that point.

Fairlchild = Brrrrtt.

Brrrrrtt indeed!!! I dunno, $5k for one of these A(R)-10's seems fair?

Not really a fair comment, it's not a production rifle. If they had an assembly line knocking off clones I'd likely agree, but if you want the best materials and the QC that comes along with low production you're going to pay.

This. These rifles are assembled one at a time, made to order as per the customers specifications. They can charge whatever they see fit. Considering the success the Modern Hunter has had, and the 1st production run of the Modern Varminter ( 80 rifles i think) being sold out ( as far as i know) I guess people are willing to pay.

Well just shows your conections are our of date.
What do you need?
Want us to post p.o. from our clients?
If so that's not going to happen.
No more then I would our us clients which pale by comparison to our Canadian clients.
If you think I would lie about who has ordered our products, then you are mistaken.
Bragging? No. Proud to make a quality products that people can bet there life on? Yes for sure.

Boutique manufacturer = boutique prices.

Mass production manufacturer = Lower prices.

Neither are inherently better quality than the other, I've watched Kimber 1911's fail during a course of fire, while Norincos blasted right along and the same goes for AR's.

Ever wonder why rich dudes like expensive pu$$y?

Because they can afford it.

It is not exactly a custom rifle either or they would be building all the parts on and in it, in house

Exactly why I am waiting as well, with the number of MH in civi hands, there sure isn't a lot of talk about how they are doing good or bad on this forum from those people.

Hmmmm.......I do remember seeing quite a few of them pop up on EE after their owners claimed to have only shot one box through them.....but then again, it was EE, lol!

I figured the rush of "never dropped and only shot once" MH's on the EE spoke more of Alberta's hibernating tarsand fields than disappointment in the actual product. I would expect getting laid off would put one's priorities in order. Just my impression.
