Mosin Nagant M44 Molot?

Hey CGN,

I picked up an m44 carbine at fishing world on Friday after work. It appears to be an all matching 1943 m44 carbine with a pristine bore. The butt plate number looks like its been buffed out and i cannot find a number on the stock but other then that its pretty nice. I was stripping the rifle last night and found some strange marking underneath the hand guard that looks laser engraved. It says ko-44 Made in Russia. Does anyone have any experience with their m44 having this marking? is my gun orginal or is it a refurb throw together by Molot?

I have a couple of Mosin snipers with those laser etched markings as well. They are from Molot for importing to Canada.

It's not original and it's not "refurb thrown together by Molot". Yours is Soviet refurb, marked nowadays by Molot as "hunting carbine" to be released to commercial market / export. Two different stories.

Ya thats pretty interesting, im glad the put the laser etching under the hand guard out of sight.

it rusisan export law, they cannot export "weapon of war" with their marking they are now civi rifle it the same with the sks now , every gun get the laser mark on it
