Are there any Retailer (Other than Wolverine) for the SAM Pistols product line?

I contacted Wolverine Supplies and was told they wouldn't be ordering any more SAM models of any kind for the rest of the year. Shooters Arms Manufacturers emailed me back and said their production rate was very good, but the people I communicated with did not know of any other source for SAMS in Canada. I was going to look into purchasing a SAM Thunderbolt in 9 MM but they won't be out for months. Any suggestions or input on the SAM line of pistol would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards to all.

Epps as well

There's also another brand of Shooters Arms pistols sold under the Seraphim name.

did wolverine give any reason as to why no orders. thought they where selling like hot cakes.

Yup... Seraphim Armoury sells them under a different name. They aren't site sponsors, but are very good to deal with.

I think they call the Thunderbolt the Archangel.

I haven't seen anyone list or stock the Seraphim's so far. Do you know who is carrying them? I'd be interested in taking a look at them especially since Seraphim is a local BC company.

According to their website International Shooting Supply in Surrey is now stocking the SA... Wholesale Sports is supposed to start carrying them soon as well.

Here's an review in Calibre Mag:

None of the Cdn dealers listed on their website show any of their products online. Too bad. would be nice to see them in person, handle them and maybe take one home. Not possible if you can't find them anywhere.

All the info says they're due to start stocking them in "Early 2016". Hopefully that's soon!

I've seen all of the Seraphim offerings, and they're the same quality fit and finish evident in the Wolverine SAM pistols. They have added a few of their own features such as fibre-optic front posts and the like. Overall a very good deal for the money.

If and when the pistols come into country (SAM has recently lost some of its metal suppliers, causing delays), they will be priced way over what they used to be selling at. They won't be as attractive as they used to be.

The 2013 Wolverine batch that SAM made is by far the best batch to have ever hit our shores. New pistols from last year are plagued with QC issues. I'd look for the specific Wolverine branded ones if you're really looking to get a SAM. I bought my first Thunderbolt from that batch a couple years ago and have since bought 2 more. All of them excellent shooters.

I would like to clarify the current situation with SAM 1911 hand guns, as we have a little misinformation here. We could re-order more models but the current exchange rate will make them expensive. Sam is not an easy company to deal with, they insist on large orders with minimums of each model. There was lot of interest on CGN about the Long Slide models, we only ordered 20 and I have 11 in stock! Very disappointing but I think this due to increased prices due to the poor exchange rate against the US dollar. We do not feel very inclined to place another order with such limited interest, if the exchange rate improved we would probable reorder. I can't comment on the other importer of SAM pistols, basically they are the same guns, we each place our own brand on them, do our own QC checks and they may vary in details. We have stock and retail factory direct with a full 12 month warranty. Currently we have inventory of some models (Please check our web page) we have not placed an order with SAM although they are pressuring me to do so but I am looking very seriously at a different brand but can't say more just yet.

I appreciate it when a retailer steps in and clarifies a situation like this. Thank you.

It makes sense that they wouldn't sell well or be as desirable as budget pistol with a premium price tag.

Guns made in the Philippines and shipped (directly?) to Canada purchased in US dollars then converted to Canadian dollars. That goes for anything that is imported into Canada I understand. Gotta love it. International Shooting Supply has no Seraphim pistols in stock and I was told today they don't know when their order will arrive in Canada.

FYI I have 2 SAM SS Enhanced Commanders (a 45 and a 9mm) that I bought from Wolverine. Both are excellent guns (accurate, tight fit, nice cosmetics). I was so impressed with them I decided to buy a stainless 9mm Thunderbolt as well. What a disappointment. One of the lands had a chip in it. The chamber looked like it been cut with a rat tail file. The extended mag well didn't fit properly, barrel link was even burred & gouged. I sent photos and an explanation to Wolverine and they replaced it. Trouble is the replacement was just as bad. Another rat tail cut chamber and this one even came pre-idiot scratched. Sent a note to Wolverine who refunded my money & indicated they were going to raise the issue of quality control (or lack thereof) with SAM. Maybe that's why they haven't reordered.

Worst part was that the Thunderbolt cost almost $400 than either of my other SAMs which were pristine.

Wish I could recommend them but this experience really soured me on SAM pistols.

They are hit and miss that's for sure Ted.
Good thing is Wolverine will make it right, but it's still sad that the quality control couldn't be better before they ship them to Canada.

What Ted said

They were an amazing deal when they were a few bucks more than a Norc.

Now? Less so

of course that goes for many these days. I loved my Ruger but I'd not recommend anyone pay a grand for one. It was sure a solid $700 pistol, though
