Cz 858 vs ruger mini 30

Hi folks, got an older ruger mini 30 w 3x9 Leupold scope on it, 40 mm. Best I ever shot was 3 1/4" at 100, and only with brass ammo, doesn't like steel case! My question is, can a cz 858 better this accuracy with iron sites at 100 yards! Is it fussy with ammo or can it eat steel case like my sks?Also, is it a decent rifle for fun at range! And yes, I understand it's not a moa rifle! Any advise would be appreciated, thanks ahead of time!:)
 
Yup the accuracy will be around the same, but it will eat just about anything.
Get yourself an 858 that wasn't affected by the ban fiasco - I would be looking at a VZ58 personally.
Pick up a used one and it will cost you around the same is your mini is worth, except it's a better platform.
 
Over 3 inches at 100 with a scope? Damn. That's practically sks territory!

While not lasers, you should be able to at least duplicate that sort of accuracy with a 858/vz58. Should be able to beat that with quality ammo...

When you talk about brass case x39, what sort of ammo are you using?
 
I spent a few weekends with a good friend's VZ58 and couldn't get it to feed brass case ammo, was all winchester stuff though so maybe that's the problem. Besides that they're great.

Well he did state that he is using open sights (meaning iron sights) not an optic.

I have achieved better accuracy with a mounted red dot at 100y then 3" tho
