my new grizzly getter

Beauty rifle they are my favorite 375H&H combo wish I could afford one

I have VX3 2.5-8X36mm B&C reticle scopes on my 22" barreled 30-06 & 375H&H and a Vari X 111 2.5-8X36mm B&C reticle scope on my 21" barreled 375JDJ because the max range I shoot with these rifles is 300 yards.

I shoot out to 500 yards with my 21" barreled 375RUM loaded with 260gr Accubonds @ 3020fps scope I have mounted on this rifle with Leupold quick detachable QRW rings and bases a VX111 4.5-14X40mm B&C reticle zeroed 1" high at 100 yards the second reticle line down is dead on at 460 yards.

I have no issues going into the thickest bush with the scope set on 4.5X but if it's really thick bush I'm set up for that = I pop off the scope and mount my XS Sights tall Weaver backup ghost ring sight onto the rear scope base swap my loads to my 350gr TSX or Woodleighs @ 2450fps.

Shot my last grizzly at 230 - 250 yards with a 300gr Partition muzzle velocity was appr 2775 - 2800fps impact velocity was appr 2300fps.

Ardent,
Had 6-28 last year and have 6-29 this year. Easy run for me as a lot of my gear (and a truck) is in Whitehorse anyway.

Hey Tuffcity, here's my H&H. I have a VX-R 2-7 scope sitting in the leupold QD mounts. Seems to work pretty good. Shot my whitetail with it this year. No Grizz here but I'm hoping for a big blackie in the spring...BTW nice choice on your gun, you'll enjoy it. I do

Very nice.. ! Just one thing wrong...! It doesn't say Winchester M-70 Alaskan on the side of the barrel. Just teasing, very nice rifle I am sure it will get the job done and serve you well. I have a leupold VX3 1.5 x 5 on my 375 H&H, you can guess what rifle it's on.

Nice piece you have there. I have an Alaskan, shoots really well with everything, yours will too I'd imagine. My most accurate load I have tried so far is everything I've tried so far lol. Seriously, Its as easy to load for as a .222 Rem. MIne really likes 260 Accubonds and a heavy dose of RL-15. Give it a go if you got it. Good luck, looking forward to your range results.

Beauty SAKO rifle there Guy - and chambered in the BEST BEAR cartridge there is ! the Real King the 375 H&H ! I have a leupold VX11 2-7 on my Remmy M700 XCR 11 375 H&H with QD rings so i can use the irons if the scope breaks or ? ! - I also have a 1.75 -6 Leupold VX3 Which is a Nice scope too for a Bear rifle ! - I am going to use it on my new Bear Stomper when done - a 416 Taylor ! Good LUCK in getting a G BEAR ! -I Look forward to pics and a storey ! :d
Cheers RJ

This thread is convincing me to sell a few guns and buy myself a Kodiak in 375H&H I'll mount my VX3 2.5-8X36mm B&C reticle scope onto it.

Hey You got a NICE Big 375 RUM in a Remmy - its gets the JOB done ! lol RJ

Your right RJ I do but I also have a 375H&H been thinking of selling it and a couple other not being used combos and putting the money towards a Kodiak.

Remember all those awesome nickle cases you sent me just think how nice they will go with a Kodiak.

TC...........my 375 H&H just loves 270 gn TSX with RL 15 in R-P or W-W cases...............and mine wears a 1.5-6 Zeiss Victory, absolutely perfect in my opinion. I have taken game at distances measured in feet and all the way out to 300 mtrs with this scope and load.

Here's my rifle, scope and group. It has shot better than this with this load, when I was having a better day.

YUP i like my Nickle cases too - the old 375 H&H is a ###y cartridge dressed in Nickle and Copper ! A SAKO Kodiak is too NICE to really use it out in the bush ! :p jmo RJ

I'm loading 250gr TTSX in those nickle cases they look very cool going to try 270gr Hornady spitzers right away too going to make these a reduced load goal = 270gr @ 2550fps - 2600fps basically want a load that is between my 375JDJ 260gr Accubonds @ 2300fps and my 300RUM with 260gr Accubonds @ 3020fps.

I know been thinking about that they are too nice for the bush all morning.

My guns are tools that get banged around and used hard if I do score a Kodiak someday it will not look as nice as the ones in the posted pics for long.

Mumbles: Used to be :) Had that handle since the interweb was born so too late to change now.

Thanks all for the load and scope advice. Got some new recipes to try! Even pretty guns need to work. :)
