Anyone else having an issue with the recoil spring being a bit weak and getting a fair amount of out of battery jams?

I've only ever put 190 rounds through mine but have never had an issue. (Using the Norinco commercial ammo). I do agree on the spring though....It does seem very weak compared to other guns I have in terms of the effort involved to field strip for cleaning.

I have shot about 500 rounds of the Norinco stuff through mine and not had any out of battery jams (had some feeding issues but i'm pretty sure it is a mag problem) but I did have a few when I used Russian surplus, maybe 2 or 3 out of 70 rounds.

I have shot about 1500 rounds of czech surplus this far , I was getting case stuck in the chamber every 30 rounds or so , as it got hot the lacquer on the case glued it to the chamber . I polished the chamber with flitz and and a power drill, it happens much less now , got through 250 rounds without a hiccup the other day ... Rarely i get a light primer strike too .. I do think the pistol needs stronger springs and maybe some chamber/ extractor improvements .. My TT never gets stuck cases or light strikes? But the P762 is much nicer to shoot and more accurate .

I wonder if there are any aftermarket springs that would work??

I tried getting a set of aftermarket sights for mine (true glow for the sig) but they are to small. Anybody know what sights fit?
I destroyed the original taking it off, it was on there good...
Any help or information would be appreciated.

Wolf make some 226 springs that may work, Looks like they have heavy hammer and recoil springs https://www.gunsprings.com/SIG-SAUER (SIGARMS)/P-226/cID1/mID4/dID254#306

I ended up getting the 18lb and 24lb springs. Im going to use the 18lb one I'm sure, the 24lb felt almost too heavy.

Ill try them both out at the range next week

One question, do I need to replace the hammer spring with their included one? Would it harm anything if it wasn't used?

Edit: Noticed that it was a firing pin spring, not a hammer spring.

Not a problem with mine, mind you I like Lube..... I suspect it has much to due with the ammo, that stuff will vary quite a bit.

The only issues I have had with mine are the occasional stuck casing, which will disappear once I polish the chamber a bit. The stronger recoil spring will help with any battery issues (very rare, but did happen a handful of times so far)
