Call me dumb... but why are mags so expensive now? Supply and demand?

Someone's clearly buying them at that price. Sellers don't buy product and price it with the intent of it sitting on a pallet forever, particularly in these economic conditions where people really like to hold onto their dollars.

If these were 5 round mags they wouldnt sell for that. People are willing to put out for perk. Its no different then the beowolf mags when they first arrived. If you want a 10 round mag you pay the 10 round price. Im fine with 5 round mags for now, maybe when the kids are finished university in 20 years ill have more money for fancy things.

Just browsing a few mags I was interested in on the hical site, they seem to be priced anywhere from 10-50% higher than competitors.

Don't mean to derail thread but this is a obviously apparent to other members as well. I mean a Korean KCI Hicap glock mag is 50% more expensive than a competitor. That kind of difference is bewildering to say the least.

The AIA mags have always been this price. Everyone else is selling them in the 70-75 range. If you want cheap then buy the pinned norinco ones.

Hical any reason why these are so high?

Original AIA mags sold for about $40 or so when marstar had some in stock which was about 5 years ago, then those mags were selling here on the E.E. used for around $150.00 as none were availlable and there was a demand for 10 round mags that were good to go in the M305 rifles for both function and legality.

Now these magazines are selling brand new for $80 to serve the Canadian gun nut who owns a Norinco M305 or M14 semi clone and wants to shoot more then 5 rounds at a time...... and people can't understand the price?

Sure they are twice the price of what Marstar used to sell AIA mags for but that was many years ago and that boat has long since sailed.

There IS a hell of a markup, though, when another dealer can drop the price by $20 per unit if you buy 5

How about the price for the Chilean(swiss clones) rifle mags, or a 10 round Savage magazine, or mags for PPQ's etc?
These magazines were a special order item as well and depending on when they were procured it's possible the dollar is having an effect.
I don't like getting gouged any more the the next person, but at the end of the day even if this magazine is $20 over priced it's not that crazy for a device that costs at least $10 every time you charge it.

Update,
Looks like they are available else where for $75.00
Avoid the insanity and save $5.00...... That's 5 free shots!
