Just spoke with a local sales guy, he was recommending the ata venza 12 ga as a fantastic semi auto.

Anyone have any reviews/ long term experience? Felt great shouldering, action was decent...wasnt a big fan of the safety placement & style.

Thanks

Ask him where you buy parts for it if required or who does the warranty work.
That always seems to be a major issue with any shotgun made in Turkey even if the reviews are good
Cheers

Ill swing by and see what he says. He did mention theyve had zero issues with the firearms. A fella bought 3 while i was there. I guess they are doing something right?

The model you mention has not been out that many years. Maybe 2 and a bit and that was at trade shows so god knows when they actually hit the market especially in Canada so be interesting to see how many he sold
The few reviews out there seem positive but who knows. I have had some excellent turkey made shotguns and some real junk
Did you read this review. Just fix the kink
If the price is 799 I think I would save a few more dollars and pick up a winchester x3 which has been well proven
Cheers

You talking the Remington Express at $350.00?

But at $900.00 for the semi, I think I also would look at something with a track record.

There is two Turkish firearms makers, ATA and another (also starts with an A, name escapes me at the moment) that are making a "great deal" of the shotguns we have here today.

Some or all models of Beretta, Benelli, Mossberg, Winchester and Weatherby shotguns are built in Turkey by one of the two factories.

While you could make the argument that they make those to spec for the (customer), I'm not sure that I really think they would produced say a good shotgun for Winchester and then turn around and put out "junk" under their own name.

Aren't the X3's made in Turkey too?

Super X3 Autoloading Shotgun (SX3).

The Super X3 autoloader is the latest in the line of shotguns having their roots in the original Super X Model One, although mechanically the similarities are very vague compared to the original. The Super X3 action is more directly related to the Super X2 introduced in 1999. Both the Super X2 and the newer Super X3 are made at our partner factory in Belgium, with additional assembly work done in our Portugal plant. In the gun industry "Made in Belgium" quality is legendary -- and you can see it in every part, every fit and every finish of the Winchester Super X3.

The question is are you willing to give up 900 plus bucks to give this ATA venza a try. When you know for a few 100 more you can get another make that works perfect and has a proven track record even with nutz members here
Too risky for my dollars

From what I remember there is a ton more than two in fact from the last write up I read. I quote There are over 300 gunmakers in Turkey, most of them scattered in tiny villages across the countryside. Turkish factories are a mix of East and West, where tea carts wheel from workbench to workbench, and prayer rooms for the Muslim workers stand next door to CNC machines.

But from similiar reports Ata is the pre-owner of the factory which Beretta bought and named "Stoeger" in Turkey . They know each other well in fact ATA was under license to Beretta and actually manufactered guns for Beretta in their factory, and they say today half of the factory is still currently producing Beretta parts while the other half produces ATA branded shotguns which are normally taking someone's design not theirs that patents ran out . In fact they even do it to Beretta their largest customer

Look at this example
A Turkish company called ATA Arms have produced an inertia shotgun that looks almost identical to the Beretta Xplor UNICO A400 (a piston operated shotgun). The receiver is the same color, has the same wavy engraved lines and has the company name written in almost the same place.

ATA Arms Neo Inertia Shotguns

Beretta Xplor UNICO A400 Shotgun
ATA is obviously trying to make their shotgun look like the Beretta Xplor. One would be very surprised if Beretta does not take out a lawsuit against them, or at least prevent this model from being imported into Europe and the United States.
Cheers
