Well Boys the Sea Cans Arrived in Top Shape

I shot it in the bean with a 9.3X62 and 270 gn Speer semi spritzer............recovery became the problem of the Inuk I hired to guide me, he jumped out on the rocks and made his way between the walrus and got a rope on the one I beaned and we dragged him around to the beach end of this rocky island and took it from there............

This is the rifle I used.......the one in the back......

Nice rifle, and cartridge. I have always understood that Walrus can be unpredictable and potentially dangerous... it is surprising to hear that your guide tip-toed between them that way.

Man... That must have been neat.....honestly speaking, the few I saw were on a tour I took commercially when I was in Gjoa haven..... It was touristy thing, and not a self discovery...... And certainly not "hunting minded".....

$9 for a head of broccoli puts your ambitions of an exotic hunt in your back pocket really quickly when you are on a military salary.....lol

And, back to topic, do you have a "layout" in mind?..... As far as certain species, certain regions, certain timelines?..... It's a problem I would love to have Douglas......

I think the giraffes should go in the room with the high ceilings. Maybe with the opening skylights.

What kind of Canadian are you? A giraffe should be mounted outside with his head going in the window.

"You guys wait here and I'll go around the front..................."

SB............I'm thinking regional........African together, NA stuff together, Asian stuff together................but then I have so much African and NA and so little from elsewhere............HHHMMMMMM.........It's a conundrum for sure and I must say some critters, regardless of origin just look better on the same wall..............Size and placement are more critical I have found.

:) .... Well, considering I took courses and doubled my income in 5 years, and still wasn't "allowed", all signs pointed to side job money going into the pot....

Modest living and active pursuit of hobbies isn't a lifestyle for everyone I guess.... Lol

I find it's easier to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission.

"And a nice warm chair to curl up in...."

Lol at friendly giant references..... A blue and red giraffe like Jerome would be a real trophy.....

Rig pig.... I like the single route.... Just do what you want when you want and don't beg for anything, lol

Hmmmmmmmmm, maybe we're awn tuh sumting hear?

Wunder if Douglas will nickie-nom his mounts after our early kartewn kariktars?
Jerome, Ee-oar, Bambi, Dumbo, Wile E Yote`, Donald, Daisy, Pluto, ??????????????????

Looks like the rain might be over for a day or 2 and I can get some more critters from the seacan to the big room.............it's tough working between the rain drops..........

SB..........what the hell is a "pinqou"

The second seacan has some neat stuff too...........no mounts but a 18 ft 12,000 lb Bradbury car hoist for working on my cars and trucks. A 1972 Opel GT I have been doing some work on for a restoration. A V12 Jaguar motor, spare for my Jag XJS. Boxes and boxes of car parts, new and old........It's like 10 Christmases all rolled into one as I unpack all my crap and find places to put it all.

Pingou is a cartoon / claymation animal...... My boys used to like to watch it when they were little.... Also a trophy you haven't acquired yet.... :)

I used to watch it with my kids... hilarious show.
