MERGED. Type 81 is on its way to Canada. Classed as RESTRICTED

Have the importers said what version of the gun they will be bringing in? Folder, underfoder, straight stock?

Fenceline, how many FRT's are there now?

1 frt entry which covers the Poly Technologies Type 81SA being imported by TI. Covers 1 restricted barrel length and 2 NR barrel lengths.

If a version is made with a different make or model designation, they will add a new frt number. Different make or model is a new number, different calibre or barrel length would just be an addition to an exist frt for that make and model.

If a norinco brand version is made, another frt number. And so on for emei or dominion arms.

The information in this thread is all that is known to date. No word on underfolder, only side folder and fixed stocks and maybe the lmg in time. And that is specific to the Tactical Imports Poly Technologies Type 81SA.

So there will be three companies making this rifle?

Poly Tech
Emei
Norinco

The manufactures are the various Chinese State Arsenals.

Examples of makes coming out of China are Polytech, Emei, Norinco. Make are brands.

Model are whatever the brand wants to call their version.

Currently there is one confirmed make coming in from one confirmed importer. That is the China State Arsenal, Poly Technologies, Type 81SA from Tactical Imports. Manufacture, Make, model, Importer.

This sounds like it is going to be somewhat like all the AR15 look-alike shotguns that are currently on, or coming out on the market where they are all very similar, but different.

It will be interesting to see!

This is going to be a long wait!

If you are referring to the AR looking shotgun pictured next to the type 81 prototype, it's just an akdal 1919. Nothing new.
