CZ owners, lets talk mags

We are using the +2 baseplate on the 10 round Mecgar mags as it doesn't actually increase capacity but makes for a nice spot to grab

MecGar and CZ did a lot of work on producing the new mags that are shipping with the guns now and are available everywhere. The higher front lip stops potential hangups from bullets sliding part way out of the mag when the round above is fed into the chamber, which I know I experienced with the previous mags on numerous occasions.

I have 3 OEM CZ mags and 5x tanfoglio mags. I've dropped the tanfoglio mags every Wednesday night (indoors, concrete floor) in practice and twice a month at various events both indoors and out without a dent or deformation of the base plate. I'm certain i've skidding across the floor a few times on them too. I'm probably going to get the rubber base pad when Freedom Ventures gets them back in stock next, I keep forgetting to get them when they have them in stock.

I was thinking about the Elander mags when I went to purchase additional mags for my CZ, but based on their performance with the 1911's I opt'd for the tanfoglios.

I just got 4 of the same mags

OK I think the +2 base plates would work. It appears that this 10 round magazine is made 10 rounder by putting a dimple on the 17 round mag. +2 base plate is compatible with the 17 round mags, there fore it should be in theory compatible with the 10 rounders too. Mec Gar should really update their website page for the +2

Slavex any opinion on Springer Precision Aluminum base pads?

Chicu, the Mec Gar +2 base pads will definitely work on the 10 round mags. You'll have some reduced spring pressure/tension, which won't likely cause you issues but can easily be resolved by adding a spacer to make up the difference in internal length the +2 pad introduces.

I prefer the MecGar +2 (and they will absolutely work on those 10 rounders as snootworks says), I've cracked aluminum pads before and also had the lips ripped off the mags by aluminum pads before, so plastic for me from now on.

Wondering, who has these mags in stock now ?

Marstar had them for 34.99 but they jacked up the price to 43.99. Now its seesms they are OOS.

I order an additional 3 from brownells.com ar $25USD a piece, which works out to be cheaper than marstar all things considered.

Thank you, appreciate !
How much was shipping on mags ?

in Europe they are shipping with the very mags discussed in this thread. I am hoping that the discussions I had with them will result in the guns shipping with the dimpled 10 round mags of the same design, but I know that wasn't the plan prior to IWA. Hopefully our importers were smart enough to ask for those mags and not the crap 1/3 plastic ones

Rusty Wood Trading just got a bunch of these Mec Gar mags in stock. Not on their website yet, so just give them a call or send them an email. They have great customer service.
