Figured everyone is constantly toying with their lego guns, might as well start a thread on it. :)

So to kick off. I've been mucking around with one of my ARs. I polished the safety selector and the bolt catch. The bolt catch needed more work 'cause when I buffed it down, there were all the pits from the casting process so I ended up filing it down then polishing it with 600grit and then 1000grit wet/dry sandpaper before polishing it with some Fitz to a mirror finish. There's still some nitride finish inbetween the textured paddle. I got lazy. I only did the exposed surface areas, the rest is still nitride finished.

I was tempted to do the Norgon ambi mag release as well but chickened out.

Reconfigured an AR with a new Midwest 15" rail and Spikes lower from an ATI rail and Omni Gen 2 lower.

Added a Krink brake, light and a VFG to my shorty 7.62x39 PDW setup. There's a story to the VFG - I had a couple Canada Post boxes disappear last year. One of my neighbors was evicted from a suite next door over the weekend, and what do I see in the pile of assorted crap they left behind in the driveway... a VFG. Looks pretty similar to what was supposed to be in one of the boxes that disappeared. Hmmmmm, what a coincidence...

I closed a deal with Motiuk Mfg for one of their lowers with custom engraving, a custom logo and custom fire control markings. My order from one shot tactical was supposed to arrive today, but canada post tracking decided to turn it around and return it to sender right after it arrived at my local post office... ugggh... I was really looking forward to trying out the KAC micro 200-600m BUIS. Oh well, that'll be next week lol. The build continues!

Daaaammn. Looking forward to seeing that new lower. What kind of turnaround did they give ya?

They already have a new batch coming in 2-3 months and I'll likely be in that batch. (I believe their February run is already sold out)

They are already at the anodizing stage I believe with their new batch if I understood their email correctly, so mine will be engraved post anodizing, but thats fine by me, I want to paint the engraving white to make it stand out a bit.

Parts I already have or will be getting for the lower are:

Motiuk Mfg custom engraved lower
Magpul UBR
DD lower parts kit
Magpul BAD
Trigger tech trigger assembly

Upper

Dlask
DD 14.5" lighweight profile midlength gas system and low profile block
BCM KMR 13"
BCM Keymod short grip
KAC Micro BUIS
Slidelock charging handle
V7 lightweight port door & rod
Spikes BCG

Heres the upper progress so far. It's quite enjoyable building an AR from scratch. It's the first time I have done it surprisingly... I guess I have just devoted more time to getting my other guns to run like my 1919 and 338's/50's. Those are a full time job lol, but now that they are working well I have some spare time and cash to devote to a nice custom lightweight AR.

Here's progress on the build so far...

You gotta post a review, not seen anything yet for them!

They're alright. I prefer my Geissle G2S. Unlike the G2S, the Trigger Tech doesn't have the oomph to reliably ignite surplus 7.62x39mm, not that many folks would find that an issue.

Edit: and I do not like the use of set screws to push down against the bottom of the trigger pocket to put tension on the trigger and hammer pins so they don't fall out.

strip/clean then spent last 2 hrs searching optics on the net think i'm gonna run my cheap red dot and off-set irons for now, then when cash rolls in a Leu Mark AR MOD.. any opinions on that scope i love me a leupold.
