Thoughts On LMT Lowers

Hey gang,

I've searched, but there doesn't seem to be a lot on LMTs.

Specifically, I'm looking at purchasing the new MARS-L lower from Questar, as it's really the only FULLY ambi lower available in the country. Another sponsor has the Aero, but their bolt catch looks clunky as not as well thought out.

Anyone have any personal thoughts and/or experiences?

Thanks!

Questar has it in?

I believe you're correct, but I'm not evern sure where to find them on this side of the border. I know One Shot used to carry them, but a quick google search doesn't reveal much anymore.

Also, as far as I understand, choosing between LWRCi and LMT is kind of like Benz vs Bimmer - I don't imagine I'll be disappointed either way and I at least know the full cost of the LMT to my door.

I have seen LWRC in stock at IRunGuns on their American website in the past. Perhaps they are a possible avenue to getting it.

That would be a good combination! I have HERA HLS ambi lowers with my ADCOR uppers. The best ambi lower was KAC but this new LMT makes it a tougher choice. Still a tough one for you as the KAC comes with a decent two stage trigger.

LMT is solid. I have two LMT mrp and one LMT mws. Very happy with them. You can see the close ties with KAC. My LMT mws And SR25 look like they are related.

With that ADCOR upper you have a carbine that frankly doesn't get the recognition it deserves. LMT also tends to be well known by those who know their stuff while not receiving the fan fare of KAC, DD, CC etc.

I think you will be exceptionally happy with that combo. One side point. Yes Raptor works with ADCOR upper and yes you can get rail covers that work with side charger. Google search it and you should be able to find the covers and quick mod required.

Epoxy! Good to hear from you. I figured it was only a matter of time until you weighed in.

No one can argue with Knights, but finding them is another question. This LMT is pretty much ready to go.

I also get a kick out of having a mutant rifle from the Improved Carbine Competition. The best piston upper, IMO, along with a super solid lower. I missed the train on the Keymod rail. I like the extension, but in fairness I still haven't even shot the damn thing, so if I feel I NEED it down the road, I'll look into it.

Glad to here there's a mod for the rail covers! I'll have to pick some up. Magpul, I assume?

Sounds like a great lower. Have been shooting a Defender 2000 for the last 6 years and it has never missed a beat. Lmt makes fantastic, typically non gimmicky rifles.

LMT is the real deal, none of those poser photo-ops sponsored Barbie stuff.
I hang on to mine knowing the pros gladly use it for real work.

I've been fortunate with my ARs, all my rifles have been super reliable through hard use and competitions.
LMT, RAA, Sig, funny enough my Norinco as well despite the flak it gets and how I treat it as figuratively a "truck" gun, all been equally solid.

Yup modified some magpul rail covers. They came with an ugly duckling LMT mrp I bought off the EE.

I've got a couple LMT carbine's. Probably the nicest finished ARs in my collection. The 14.5" M4gery with SOPMOD stock and enhanced BCG has been absolutely bombproof. The first impressed me so much that I bought another exactly like it as a backup just before the US State Dept. started clamping down on the export of ARs with barrels under 16" some years ago. The fear back then was that we'd seen the last of any ARs that would meet the American definition of a short barrel rifle. Thankfully, those restrictions didn't last too long, but I had another $2300.00 addition to the collection. I hate to admit it, but that back up LMT is still wearing its factory oil coat. Its brother, despite many thousands of rounds, still looks almost like new. Before HK, LMT was supplying rifles and parts to many SF units and they've won a number of high profile military contracts, including the British MOD and the NZ army. LMT definitely belongs to the top tier of any AR manufacturers list.

Happy to hear it! This is just the lower I have on the way, but it's one of the few truly ambi lowers out there. I reckon it will have been worth the wait. More to follow.

Amen to that.
