I'm really looking close at a Jericho 941 in a 9mm (range kit). The gun-shop has a compact 941 in burnt bronze and a regular 941 range kit, both in 9mm.

My question is if what would I be losing/gaining by if I bought the compact vs the regular 941F?

I just handled one, full size steel a couple of hours ago, man what a nice feeling pistol.... I might take a closer look at these.

The compact seems a little awkward. Plus being in Canada there's not really a benefit to a compact pistol.

Couple things that stopped me from buying a Jericho was the slide mounted safety and the small smooth slide that would make it more difficult to rack. Maybe try maybe check those out and see how you feel about them. If your not using it for ipsc or reloading fast it really doesn't matter. It's a pretty sweet pistol and the single action trigger is nice. The extra weight of the full size steel would be great for follow up shots and recoil management

I will go Steel frame, full sized. I have not seen a frame-mounted safety on a 941. Trigger is one of the best out of the box. My only concern is the finish. Jericho 941 is known to have a rather poor finish compared to a regular blued or the poly-coated CZ 75 series. I have seen some hard-chromed 941 years ago from some dealers. I am just not sure if you can still find one. Also, if you are planning to shoot IPSC, a good holster might be a problem. Magazine is not an issue since I have seen a few using an OEM CZ 75 mag without a problem (YMMV as I am also hearing this might be a hit and miss with non Jericho mags.)

The slide mounted decocker/safety is why I finally gave up on the Beretta 92fs and sold it to an eager friend. learning on the CZ and 1911 I could NOT train myself to not slingshot the slide after a reload. I got tired of switching on the safety from doing that. I loved the style and feel of the Beretta but that stupid decocker/safety location had me constantly exercising my bad words vocabulary.

Aside from that the Jericho/Baby Eagle that I tried out had me seriously looking at it as my first gun choice. As far as all metal hammer fired 9mm's go it's one of the nicer ones. But trying a buddy's CZ won out by just a little. The range kit price sure does make it an attractive budget conscious choice though.

^^^^ This CZ was my choice

The 941 is on my to get list, just waiting for the new stock with the safety on the frame to start showing up. I'm getting the feeling that I'm not alone in this. And full size for me too!

Yeah....

Didnt know they changed the design.....

...you've just cost me a month in the doghouse when i find one...

Thanks a lot....

Anyone wanna buy old style 941 range kit for cheap so's i can upgrade?

In all seriousness, this will be a big improvement. I find i cant rack mine with the safety on, unless i feel like pinching myself.

To the original poster, i handled both the steel and poly one a lot before making the decision. Poly just fit my hand so nice, made the choice an obvious one for me.

I would have to say...the slide mounted safety has been a deal breaker on a few guns.... I do not care for it...a used cz would be my choice.
