Savage 10TR le/military

Try doing it with the bolt knob in the palm of your hand but your hand almost open, so you are slightly pushing on the end of it, I find they work great!

Yeah, I found a way to operate the bolt in a way that it cycle properly, but I prefer it to cycle smoothly in any way.
But yesterday i've dry cycled it many many times and it did improved! I have to vonlunteerely apply an angled force to make it hard to cycle, so that an improvement ;) Now it is very acceptable, and it probably going to get better overt time.

Thanks! Now I have to do the barrel break in. Any inputs on the break-in procedure?

Need a jig like this to hook it up to... (stolen from the Gifs thread)

I'm going to try applying some "in" pressure on the end of the bolt knob, while cycling it, so it won't try pulling the rear of the bolt out sideways on closing - might also have to run a wetter bolt (CLP).

Anyone care to share their best loads for the 10TR?
I've been testing 155 Amax, 168 Amax and 178 BTHP over Varget and Federal primers, from my 20". All the groups have hovered around 1 - 1.5 MOA but nothing outstanding.

I just purchased a 10tr as my first bolt action gun, can't wait to see how it shoots and ultimately get some meat on the table. I was happy to see a thread dedicated to the rifle here, lots of pages to get through!

Photo dump time, me and a pal drove up to Merritt the other day and managed to get rounds on steel (750m) within two shots each, it was almost too easy, lol!

Got to my range today ;) First tests with reloads! Bullet is Hornady Match 158gr BTHP, powder IMR-4895 I tested 39.5gr, 40.0gr, 40.5gr. It turned out that the 40.0gr was the best today! No wind, my old crappy tasco scope... 200 Yards.
Really love the trigger, very crisp and light (at its lowest, near 2lbs).

So, around 1MOA at 200 yards, not bad... I can surely improve myself! The new Vipers PST is on it's way, can't wait!! :)

Here what were the results of my last cartridge development. I was playing with the COAL. The last shot was the low flyer, I was able to call It... I totally flinched, too nervous about missing the last shot :) Lack of experience on my side I guess! But that's the proof that this rifle orvershoot myself! Practice is the key. Now I have to group at 300Y.
