My lyman manual dosent have any data on this cartridge...I am looking to reload cast bullets but need some data...does anyone have a good source?

Any suggested molds in the 400 and lower range? Can you use muzzle loader bullets or not because there have no gas check?

I just started researching for this caliber, before even buying the gun...need to see if I have the powders available here because there is no way I'm not reloading for this costly beast.
 
The Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook has cast bullet loads for .500 S&W. It's really worth buying as it has a lot of information in alloy selection, casting, sizing, seating, and more as well as a plethora of load data.
 
I cast and reload from 375gr up to 700gr for mine here is a good site to find starting loads. http://www.reloadammo.com/500sw.htm

I have tried 300gr 50 cal copper plated muzzle load bullets and it did work, but i was using full power loads (H110) and ripped/blew the copper off the bottom of the hollow base on them. they still shoot decently but it's not cost effect to shoot them vs bulk plated or cast.
