Beretta92FS Question

Yes it does. But you can QUICKLY end up with too light a strike and numerous FTF's. If you try this then move in VERY small amounts. Like at first ONLY cut off the tight wound coils on the one end end. Even a millimeter adds up to a big difference at the trigger. And a millimeter too far will start to greatly increase the FTF occurances. Under no circumstances would I go with more than 3mm's total removed unless there are sources that have tried it and proven that more is workable.

If you shoot in events where the fist shot is in double action also be aware that shortening a stronger stock mainspring vs fitting a weaker full length replacement will cause the trigger pressure to stack up more. It starts out light but builds in resistance more quickly. That can make it harder to get a smooth pull for that DA first shot even though the final pull is actually less than before.

Finally if your trigger is really notchy now then clipping the mainspring won't fix a crusty engagement and catchy release. For that you need to stone the sear and hammer hooks with a super fine stone at the right angle so the hook faces slide against each other smoothly. So while you can expect some improvement on a decent trigger don't expect miracles from one that has a bunch of issues.

As BCRider pointed out you can nip the pieces of the coil a bit at a time. But don't get too greedy as mentioned above, you could easily pass the sweet spot and begin experiencing light primer strikes.

Switching to the D spring dropped the SA trigger pull weight to approx 5.5lbs. Adding the Wolff D Reduced Power spring along with the D spring dropped it down to approx 4lbs. I say approx 'cause I only have a spring trigger weight gauge and not the more expensive digital ones.

I ordered a Wilson combat 12# for my clone.

They deliver to Canada

758CK springs &
635 Wilson Combat Short Reach Steel Trigger

Got both for $75'ish

Here is what I wrote to Wilson:

I own a 92fs Beretta and I want to lighten the trigger pull.

I only use the gun at an indoor range. My GF also uses the gun and she finds it too hard to pull.

I will be replacing the trigger with yours as well.

What parts do I need to have the lightest trigger pull available without affecting the guns reliability?

Part numbers would be greatly appreciated and I can order everything.

Wolff mails directly to your door. The only downside is the fixed shipping cost regardless of order amount. So buy some kits for other guns you have or know you will be buying over the next couple of years. Or team up with some buddys to bulk out the order and split the shipping.

When did you get stuff from Wilson? I ordered sights last fall and springs a few weeks ago and had to have them ship to a family member in the USA because they wouldn't ship to Canada.

I just ordered both the trigger and spring (and a hammer) from Brownells like two weeks ago.
It was pretty cheap and got here in about a week.

Just another option for you...

^^^ Good advice I went for a kit and sold off the spares to a range buddy.

Yes I do have an account with Wilson but there is no option for Canada in the shipping drop down menu, had to use a USA address for shipping. Very strange how it was able to get processed and shipped.
