Questions about PAL/RPAL application.

I thought they were not passing out pardons anymore. They're useless anyway, as,they they don't totally seal your records from everybody . I think the U.S. Waiver is a better option, if your ever planning on visiting the states.mboth cost about the same and take about a yr.

What makes you think that? Only some grievous offences are impossible to get pardons for. This is certainly not one of them and they're far from useless.

I just thought I read that the pardons weren't being offered no more as of 2016. I guess they're (pardons) useful for job applications in Canada , but are useless for gaining access to the states. So depending on what you want it for. You can apply to " Pardon application of Canada" for a Pardon or a U.S. Entry waiver, no lawyers needed. Takes about 6 months to a year and costs about $750.

damn 8 month wait. During the wait period did you try contacting the CFO to speed things up? Or just sat back and waited?
Yes, I certainly did call in. I followed the guide on here to speed up processing times at first. I called in once every week for a long time but they always screwed me around and just did there best to get me off the phone. 2 days ago I called in for the first time in 3 months and spoke to a lady, who honestly was really really helpful. She sent an email to turn to assigned to my case asking to finish my file. She told me all the processing steps my application went through and the dates they were entered. The next day I got a call from the cfo. It really is all about luck on who you get on the phone.
