Who would you recommend or who did yours? Looking for a Sporter contour, probably under 20". The rifle is one the way.

Anyone know if a 375 Ruger will feed using 338WM mag and action?

Note: long barrel boosters, I'm not interested in hearing all the reasons a short barrel doesn't work for you unless this build is on your dime. For my needs the extra 150fps only makes the rifle unwieldy, not more capable to fill my needs. Thanks.

That would be a NICE conversion - you could rebarrel or get yours bored out and then rechambered - a 20 " BEAR gun is GREAT ! I am getting a barrel from Bob Jury for my 416 Taylor build witch is the 375-338 's BIG brother as you prob know and i will get either Mitch Kendell or Dennis (Guntech) on here to smith it -you might have to buy a reamer to get the job done . Good luck !

That sounds good. I consider(ed) the 416, but bullet choice and wanting to use it as an everyday hunter bring me back to the 375. Yes, I might have to buy the reamer. Got the rifle quite cheap, (floor model, last one etc.) so there is a bit more budget room before it gets silly.

I prob would have went with the 375 CT if i didn't have a King 375 H&H already ! :) LOL RJ
 
375Ruger long throat instead??

So, as I couldn't sleep something occurred to me. Considering the reamer (or a prefit Pac-Nor barrel) adds cost, would 375 Ruger work instead. More common reamer, probably MaGowan or Shilen prefit available. Factory ammo, cheaper dies. Already a long mag, would 375 Ruger feed properly? Maybe spec a long throat to seat 300gr bullets way out?? Good thing logistics and budget slow me down, means I might catch up to my whims and make some sense of them.

I'll send him another email. The Ruger just carries the .532 belt diameter on up the case.
 
The 375Ruger feeds but mag only holds 2 because it's fatter. Not much room to adjust. The DM requirement is the challenge. A 20" Howa looks attractive.
