Obviously you didnt read my post correctly. I had the metal TESTED and X-RAYED. I would shoot (and have shot rifles) in poorer condition than this, and i wouldnt hesitate to fire this one. This post is to show my restoration
If I had to guess I'd say you must know someone who provides the service, otherwise I can't quite figure how this could be cost effective.
Also no need to get in people's face...they're right, your taking a big risk, esp if all you had tested was the spots you mentioned. What the hell though, it's your face and hands, just be sure to give fair warning to everyone standing close so they can move back a little.

looking good , now you need to find a sight hood.
I'm not a fan of the repro sight hoods, they are thick and sit too tall and look silly.
Try to wait for a proper one.
