Calling Ruger RSM experts

I will fix you up for 3B/4B rings... I am not a fan of "Leupold for Ruger" rings... the OEM rings work very well and have the cleanest look IMO.

Agreed, and thanks..... When I am away from home and carrying a Ruger rifle for hunting I always have the key with me anyways (providing rifle has iron sights).... So no need for QD... And definitely don't like the leupold or their price tag.....

Far from an expert.... But here are some pics......

First impression of the rifle, it is extremely well built...... This thing is ready for business...... The wood is very good, if not great.... But it does not have the high gloss touch that someone that wants to display it and not use it would want..... This is a working mans rifle with class, and that is what I was after......

The bolt is butter smooth... And the irons are among the best I have ever sighted through.....

On the negative side, this rifle is front heavy for sure..... But it does help eliminate muzzle jump..... A good quality sling would help, and when it is scoped, I will be interested in seeing the balance.....

This is a quality build and something a guy can be proud to own for sure....

Looks good Brad, did you take it out to the range?

I didn't get it to the range, but I did bring it out to the old gravel out near my land and put three shots through it..... Cycled nicely and not too much recoil, and the weight helped eliminate muzzle jump....Cant really give an accuracy report as I was shooting an old hubcap from 50 yards.... Lol

Niiiice. H&H?

Yep...

Optics sure do tell what these rifles can do. I put a Zeiss Terra on mine (still intact btw) and was quite impressed by the groups that were possible.

Brad you tease; is it getting a little brother in the old new king?

I bet that hubcap is some dead...

Lol..... The hubcap has been some dead for a long time.... In fact, the tree it is nailed to split and fell over where I have been shooting through it for the last 12 years......

There is no imposter coming, but I did order that .338 wm guide gun...

Lol..... "Tease".... The rifle has been teasing me since I opened it.... It's still sitting on the counter in the site 'n clean like some sort of display that I must look at every ten minutes..... The pictures don't do the wood justice......

To clarify the "old new king" is the 338 WM with 250 grain roundnoses

I think you had better go on a big game hunt with that pair Brad. I volunteer my services as gun bearer :dancingbanana:
