Bad, unnecessarily complex code is always difficult to maintain.

It works until it doesnt. That is when you code freeze and either perform a major refactor or full rewrite. Either way, building on top of buggy, complex systems always has a tipping point and it is important to be honest and identify when that is...

The point is, if you want to ignore the rules, don't complain when they take action against you. If you justify the use of an offensive slur with such "respectable" references as urban slang, you have truly earned your own reputation.

True, but I have never seen so many people take time to teach you how to beat them. Some of these are the same people.

Speaking from 40 years of IT experience. A lot of it trying to fix poorly structured code written by geniuses.

I can accept that your supposition is based on experience from your career however, I am still waiting to hear your basis for making the claim.

How do you know this is the case? Have you examined the code? What parameters are you using to measure cyclomatic complexity?

IPSC Ontario has the classic problem: Not letting new people in and make decisions. The place would stagnate and die without new blood.

Are you addressing me or just someone out there? For the former, none of my comments here violating any rules. But I am sure some may choose to get offended regardless. But those people need to grow some balls and stop crying or bullying other members.

At the 3 years when I was Ontario webmaster no one got banned from resource that was created for Ontario members to have place to discuss things within organization. Yet I received plenty of crapload from varicose people. Including several current members of Ontario board. That wasn't stopping me from bringing the organization up to use technology for the new century. I left it once new board wanted me out. Ever since I don't see members complaint less about organization issues. It is quite opposite actually.
