Good job chris your shenanigans has brought down ipsc ont website, Its not loading up anymore for me.

just wondering if enough volunteers (that run matches at their clubs) feel that ipsc ont is being directed the wrong way then why dont these volunteers that run their respective matches switch to uspsa? All the top shooters in ontario are already members of uspsa and you can use the texas star (with a big ass shroud around it lol). The attendance might be small at first but it will grow rapidly and you can use all the infrastructure that uspsa already has ie their website, ranking system, classification system ect. The club just has to pay a fee for uspsa affiliation same thing that they are doing for ipsc ont.

Why do you call them Phantom DQ's??
Did you get banned??

In my opinion, there were occasions where the DQ call was questionable. Its always RO's word vs mine. I never challenged those decisions because its a question of credibility. RO' word would carry a lot of weight against a newbie. I took those with a stride, because safety comes first above anything else. You live and learn.

Technically, I was not banned but suspended until I do a BB course again. I signed up for one near Ottawa this summer.

I remember in 2006 or 2007...the question of reprimanding members for GunNutz posts was raised at BOD meeting. One board member was strongly in favour, one was passively in favour, the other 3 (myself included) were vehemently against. We didn't have the IPSC Ontario online forum to contend with at the time, that seems to have added to the current confusion.

Sanctioning members for anything that happens outside of the organization....is a very slippery f*cking slope (if this is actually what is happening)

You should read that forums rules again, they have changed since you signed up.

Noticed this line in IPSC Ontario forum registration rules:

https://www.ipsc-ont.org/forum/index.php?topic=17.0

11. Any member found to be making inflammatory posts and remarks about this Forum on other Forums will lose their posting privileges. If a member flames this Forum, they should not expect to be welcome here.

Wow...just...wow.

Simar...when did this "rule" go into effect?

ouff...it looks like the ipsc global village forum right there lolll.

Sometimes you have to stand up for what you believe. I and many others want the rules changed. There will be a lot of new blood running for the board I can assure everyone of that. :). It is even more stuffy than Global Village.

Don't assume new is always better. If that was the case...the current board would rock. I know most of the current board members...and for the most part they are reasonable folks. Leadership and group dynamics can be a very complex and challenging thing. New blood doesn't necessarily resolve the issue. It can actually make it worse.

That and the fact that most of the people who scream the loudest...bang their fist for change...say they will step up and fix it all...are always curiously absent at election time.

I'm not speaking to you specifically...just a general observation

You have a some good points. I wish the current board just wouldn't keep the status quo with those new rules. One thing that has remained constant regardless of any board is the fun and awesome competition at matches. I'm addicted to the sport and will shoot IPSC until my body says I can't any more.

If people don't like drama and politics, why would they join IPSC?

Many have said similar thing and here's why I think is very wrong way to think like that..
IPSC is about guns, shooting and having fun.. PERIOD !! any politics that take place, usually don't affect the members in general for going out and playing with guns and shooting and bang bang fun..... the politics will ALWAYS BE THERE regardless of whom the board of directors are !!
Anyone avoiding shooting ipsc or other disciplines cause of silly politics, are the only ones loosing out on the fun that sport brings and the good folks and friendships you'll meet/make !

Re: IPSC forum....it's a separte thing from the actually sport, matches and shooting fun....so again, little politics on a discussion forum have TOTALLY nothing to do with the game itself and doesn't affect the game itself, whatosever !! So who cares about the politics in direct regards to the shooting fun of being a member, etc...!!!

Re: Euxx: you weren't banned from being a web guy cause the new board just wanted you out !!! Just because you do have NO people skills and many people hate you..... it had nothing to do with your removal of web guy for ipsc ontario...
Actually, your tons of hours were greatly appreciated. But, You WERE a volunteer to do that and you're suppose to follow the direction of the board of directors on: please change this, or please add a drop down window for this, or please add link to do this or that...
As a volunteer, of which your tons of work was greatly appreciated, you DO NOT have the right to say NO, to requests from the board of directors, and repeatedly say NO... you're job as volunteer is to adhere to the such requests. You're input on if that revision is a good one or if is useful change or not, is appreciated and taken into consideration, but is not, again to repeat, is not your right to say NO i will not make that revisions, etc...
so your continued insubordination as web guy caused your removal, cause ipsc ontario shouldn't have to fight, argue, debate these with you !!! Was there a hidden agenda against you ? I'm not familiar with one, except that most don't like your lack of people skills (to be polite), but otherwise, I believe everyone was fine with you as a web guy, as long as you didn't act as if you owned it, cause you volunteered... Just to put it into perspective for everyone.

re: being banned for posting on other forums. I don't agree with it either, and the rules are in the middle of re-consideration and discussion. So ya'll be patient to see what changes are made and we'll go from there.
There is general consensus from the board that the rules are being governed heavy handed and with some over sensitivity levels, thus the revisions being in motion.
After all, as I stated above, the forum is total separate issue than the generality of the sport itself...and directors of the board in regards to the sport itself are doing the every day things that need to be done to keep the sport moving forward, providing support to clubs that ask for it, etc.. etc... so the forum having some issues is stupid reason to not want to shoot ipsc.... IMHO.

CHRIS, your ban, by current rules, would on paper, be justified....but there is some reasons to argue against it, of which will be discussed further.
Again, cause the rules are what they are currently, so they have to (I guess) be adhered too.....but this rule about being banned for what you say on other forum, may not be in new set of rules.....again, it's all under discussion right now... Not every board member agrees with all the current rules and how they have been governed..

Main point: Getting up every morning and choosing to go practice, or set up a match, shoot the match and have tons of fun, go out for with buddies after match, etc... is not affected by some silly forum issues !!
Get out there and have fun !!!

Great post. Thank you sir.

Of course, but isn't it sad that we have to keep telling shooters to just have fun and ignore the politics? Don't kid yourself, it does effect the sport. However, the good still outweighs the bad, that's why I still shoot it after 38 years.

And we talk about hockey parents. This is just a grown-ups game yet it's taken so seriously. This sort of childish crap does drive people away because it happens in the place where so many hear about the game - the Interwebs. All the more reason to leave out the trophies - they inevitably remove a lot of the "fun" aspect.
