Hi Folks, was hoping I could get a bit of insight here. I had a look at a CIL Anschutz semi .22Lr the other day, and I was wondering if I could get some advice on the price, and whether or not it'd be a good buy. I didn't think to get the model number, but it's the one with the brass deflector, I think its a model 470?

Just looking for something for plinking and rabbits, nothing too fancy, just reliable and mostly accurate.

Thanks in advance.

CIL Anshutz rifles were a high end .22..they had a good reputation for workmanship and accuracy,..i have noticed though that spare magazines are very expensive and also difficult to find,..

Thanks, I knew the bolt-action ones are known for being accurate, wasn't sure if it held through to the semis as well. It has a magazine with it.

Figured out how to work the search engine better, thanks for the tip! I think I'll pass, it's priced at 380$, with no sights which seems pretty steep

You might want to check out the Marlin 795 semi auto .22,..7 shot magazine, bolt holds open on last shot,..they seem well liked by their owners,..priced not bad either,..about $220.00

I have had the same gun since new around 1970 and can't begin to count the rounds through it. It has eaten everything I have fed it including some of the less than stellar brands and has never hiccuped, let alone burped. The accuracy is very acceptable, especially for a semi in .22 cal. The price you quote seems high but I may be out of touch with current prices. No sights?? If you will be using a scope anyway, not an issue. Bottom line, a great little gun that (in my case) will eat anything and do it well. Yeah , I am biased, but it is the sweetest .22 I have owned for small game and general plinking. Not Anschutz target level equipment, but still darn good in the field.
