Hey all. I bought a mini 14 target last fall snd its pretty sweet. Only thing im not stuck on is the pistol grip laminate stock. Would any of the more learned gun nutz have any suggestions on a replacement one and where i could possibly source one? And also if there is any crap that i should stay away from. Ive done a few quick searches of my go to dealers and google but haven't found much yet. TIA and thanks for your time.

Do not put a Archangel stock for it. Really heavy and somewhat finicky to put on as it will put pressure on the slide making you have to do a bunch of grinding to get it to work right. I finally left it sitting in gun safe and put it back to stock and placed the Hogue stock back on and am really happy with it. I drilled and tapped the bottom of the stock with a Picatinny rail to mount a bipod.

I hear the Hogue is one of the better aftermarket stocks for the Mini.

I considered buying a Mini-14 Target, and preferred the Hogue stock over the laminate. As for the Archangel, Frumpy had one and it was solid and well built, I was pretty impressed with it but only held it for a short time. I can't speak to the fitting other than it's not that uncommon to have to do a little sanding/grinding to make a rifle fit in an aftermarket stock. If it wasn't made for the HB you may need to do a bit more. As for the weight, 10 lbs. won't kill you to hump, if it tires your arms get a 10 lbs. dumb bell and do some curls/presses watching your favorite TV show.

With the Archangel stock I believe it was 13 lbs. The price was close to $300 for that price you should not have to do work to make it fit in my opinion. Hogue is a factory option.
