Is it possible to find 22 long ammunition?

I have a couple of boxes of CCL .22 long that I acquired in 1978. I don't wish to sell because I only have this small amount, but I haven't seen it for sale for a long, long time.

Hi folks,

Been trying to locate some 22 Long for a friend of mine, who has an old Winchester chambered for this caliber. I've pretty much ran out of ideas. Anyone would know if there is some, somewhere, in Canada?

Hayya PewPewLew............jest a tawt............ any thing shorter should work.........n'est pas?
Like shorts?
Or them mice rounds, wee shorts?

Gaaad, these 22 rims get one to thinking..........huh?

CB longs are silent compared to actual longs which are just about as loud as long rifle. CB relates to those old CB shorts we used to buy to shoot cats under the house in town.

They have a few makes of 22 long on the shelves at Le Baron Montreal, saw that a couple weeks ago... JP.

Every few years(4-5 years) you do see a batch of it come in. The last time I seen any normal not CB 22 long was around 2012. If you ever find some I suggest buying a lot to carry you over.

The Aguila Super Colbri ammo appears to be based on 22 Long.

It looks like a 22 LR case with a 22 short bullet.

I know this is not what you asked but, if it is a bolt action, could he use .22 shorts?

I have used the CCI CB 22 Short that people posted about. It's damn quiet and fairly accurate within 25 yards.

the CCI 22 long is the same as their 22 long rifle high velocity but shorter casings, the CB Long is the same as their 22 long rifle Quiet ammo but shorter casings.

CCI High Velocity and CCI Quiet are VERY different types of ammo..

ps: I have found 22 long at CT in the last few weeks
And their quiet LR ammo has a 40 grain bullet with the same velocity as the 29 gr cb long and short. The quiet is louder the the cb too.

Yeah I'm aware it's different FPS. I was responding to the statement that they are not the same thing. 22 long is 22 long, regardless of FPS.

Yep there is a difference. My 9422XTR was stamped 22 S-L-LR. It was great when Imperial was around and you could buy all 3 lengths. I loved using the Long ammunition for grouse and bunnies. Very effective and no damage if you were a bit off and tagged a grouse through the top of the breast.
