Tuther two are the A-5 clones, sort awff.

How duzz one know if'n they izz field or trap units?
Both ribbed, one izz choked fer skeeter's and t'uther is Modified.
Skeet barrel is shorter by a kupple incheez's and the stawk is pin checkered.
Modified has les fler dew lis checker'n.
Both mid 60's.

Trap & Skeet Models are stamped as such on the receivers. So are 870's in the target models. And if they are A-B-C-D or F grades they will have that designation stamped on them as well. My 1100 Tournament Grade was stamped on the receiver Remington Model 1100-Tournament while others carried the TRAP-T designation and had a completely different checkering pattern than the Fleur-De-Lis pattern and was cut checkering, not pressed.
They usually appeared as TRAP-A, TRAP-B etc, 870's carried the designation Model 870TA, 870TB and so on. On skeet models the T was replaced with an S.

Just to add . I don't know about trap but not all factory skeet 1100's were stamped on the receiver as skeet . It depends on the grade and the period of manufacture. Most not stamped were either skeet A which was really a field gun other than a different choked barrel and a different drop in the stock
Cheers
