I'm thinking about buying a .22 LR barrel for my T/C Contender. I was wondering if there is anyone out there that has one that could give me their opinion on the accuracy of these barrels. Any info would be appreciated.

I tried all kinds of terms on the search but couldn't find any threads or posts on the topic.

I have a 16" encore barrel attached to a Pro Hunter action. Its a "hand gun" configured barrel so I use a handgun fore stock and a Pro hunter butt stock. OA length is approx. 27".
In this configuration its used with open sights on our gopher shoots for the very close critters. Its very short and a dream to handle and shoot. Very accurate as well.
Has factory sights. BTW, its the only rim fire "allowed" on our gopher shoots; everything else is center fire.

I promised Chewy a report today . A couple of days ago the weather forecast for today promised a fine shooting day. WRONG. but I shot my T/C .22 barrel for the first time at 50 yds. this morning in gusty winds and finger numbing cold. I was resting to barrel on the bag about half way between the for stock and the muzzle More experimenting may find a better place. Today's results were.
Federal bulk 1.43"
American Eagle 1.43"
Eley Black box .717"
Eley target .86"
Federal gold medal match .798"
Winchester bulk 1.12"
CCI stinger 1.76"
RWS R50 .507"
Rem subsonic .4"
I do not think there were any surprise's with the exception of the Rem subsonic s shooting better than the match ammo.
Although they shoot very well in some other rifles and are my favorite gopher ammo at the monument.
I will give this another go on a better day and report again if I learn any thing more. I find the the T/C carbine's just to small for me to shoot well . But they can shoot quite well if you can hold them.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but out of curiosity, does any one in Canada carry Contender barrels? I'd love a 22lr for my G2 carbine.

Try this guy ht tp://nine35.ca/; I have bought from him before and had no issues. Apparently he can get custom barrels in as well.

It's interesting to see the group sizes. Things may tighten up more on a calm day.
I'm going to look around for some match ammo. I have never shot that before.
I went ahead and ordered a barrel. I'm hoping it will shoot decent. If it shoots as well as my As my CZ 452 that would be a bonus. That may be expecting to much though.

Where did you order from if you don't mind me asking?

I never thought to go this route. As long as it stays over a certain length with the butt stock I guess a guy could use a pistol barrel and it would still be unrestricted. What is the minimum overall length to keep it out of the restricted class?

I ordered it from Irunguns. Got it on sale. The only place I could find one. I checked out the link to shop in a post above. Pretty pricey and not much selection. Matchgrade's website is something else. Any kind of barrel you would want. Would be nice to have a dollar on par with states again. :)
