Garand Fest

The beginning of a collection. Top is a 1955 HRA and the bottom is a new build with a Beretta Receiver, CBI barrel in .308, and a refinished USGI stock.

Both Brownells and Numrich ship quite quickly. I normally receive shipments within 10 days of placing an order.

Really?

I ordered through a local store here.. the first time, one of the employees cancelled my order months after i placed it, and the second time I ordered was January.

The first time I ordered, the order was placed with brownells, and the second time it was placed with Numrich.

I guess i'll have to order directly through them, cut out the middle man.

Dealing directly is the best way to go, provided you aren't trying to import something like a barrel which requires a permit. I have an account account with Brownells and just phone in an order when I need to. You can order from Numrich/GPC on line and can also establish an account with them. Sarco Inc is another big US parts vendor which ships to individuals in Canada.

I'd eventually like to replace the barrel, and start stocking up on parts.

I'll definitely order directly from Brownells, Numrich, and Sarco. I'm not a fan of waiting for parts lol

That's exactly where i was planning on sending mine to.

How much did it cost?

I originally was just going to get the HRA Garand that my wife got me for christmas restored but the pitting was just too far gone and it wasn't worth all of the welding and grinding, so I had him build me a good shooter. All in including shipping it ran about 2000 for the new one and 200 to bead blast, de-grease, and re-park the components on the HRA rifle.

For a restoration you'll be looking at about 600ish, depending on how much pitting and if you are going to put a new barrel on it (350 for CBI barrel or 400 for original factory barrel), but contact Nick for a more accurate price.

If you google Vulcan Gun Restoration all of his contact info is on his site
