Best handguard mount for optics on a VZ58?

Should make no difference if it is a CZ or VZ. The Corwin Arms version is good quality and only minor fitting required, a block of wood and a hammer to tap the bottom guard in place. I dremilled a little bit off the front of the bottom hand guard for better fitting. The only complaint I have is the upper guard uses the tabs on the gas block for mounting similar to the original top hand guard (most do). If your gas block is not square to the mounting hole for the bolt/pin it will require some modifying or drilling as the aluminum rails do not bend well.
So were you still able to install the handguard yourself?
Is it uncommon to have your tabs not squared to the rifle?

I have a CSA if that makes any difference.

If you're looking for a solid light and cheap option... Put a NEA upper on the top and a Fab polymer lower on the bottom. No reason for the bottom to be metal and the NEA upper is economical and fits easily. I'm not really a fan of the NEA lower.

I have that combo on one of mine and a BC tactical on the other.

I am wondering about putting front accessories on my CZ VZ58. My main purpose is to put a bipod/foregrip
1. Picatinny frontguard from CSA direct or
2. Aluminun Rail from Fab Defense or
3. Polymer Quad Rail System.

Hey 84wh1, the fab defense aluminum hand guard is rock solid and holds zero really well. No co-witness with irons tho if that's important to you

BoneSteel is still lower than NEA.

I have fab defense, does not cowitness but holds zero
if you put an aimpoint or a trijicon rmr do iron sights matter?

Okay, so there's no co-witness with the fab defense and a micro red dot but how's the cheek weld with the original angle butt stock? With the NEA and bone steel stuff being nearly impossible to get, I'm wondering if I'm going to need a new stock if I want a red dot optic but maintain cheek weld.
