10.5, 14.5 or 18+ " AR if only had a 100Y range

Depends what you want. If you're sitting on a bench anyways I would look for something that is accurate. Slap a scope on it and play designated marksman. 16" and longer but most important would be a good quality barrel.

Think beyond the range you spend most of your time at. Look at what you want to do using this rifle. Are you planning to just sit at 100m in a lane? Or do you plan on taking courses and learn how to really use the thing? If you want to blast away from a comfortable sitting position it won't really matter. If you want to do service rifle competition, get a 14.5", 15.7" or 20" bbl rifle, CQB plan for a 7.5", 10.3" or 14.5" bbl. Most courses really don't care about barrel length and are more interested in a reliable bang stick.

there are advantages to a rifle or intermediate gas system, which are present in 18+ inch ARs: reduced recoil, reduced muzzle movement, easier to transition between targets, easier to hold on target, reduced noise.
muzzle velocity helps a flatter trajectory.

if you want to compete in 3 gun i'd go with an intermediate or rifle gas system

18" Stag 3G with a rifle length gas system.
14.5" Noveske Afghan, pinned and welded Surefire SFMB-556 and a mid length gas system.
10.5" Noveske CQB currently running a KX-5 Flaming Pig.

I love the 14.5 with the pinned and welded brake. It's my go to rifle to bring to the USA.
It is softer shooting than the 10.5"

So I'm looking at getting an AR. I only have a 100Y range

I shoot my AR between 25-100yrds so went with the 10.5"bbl with irons (to make things more challenging:))
My LMT throws flames and pretty accurate for my use.

I have the same 100 yards type range here on PEI. I use a 10.5 Noveske with a KX5 flaming pig and a Aimpoint T1 2moa. Two thumbs up. I would give it more but I only have the two.

Figure out which length floats yer boat highest and buy that. Then start collecting pieces [wait for sales!] for a second upper. I started with a 14", then did a 10.5"...both are tons of fun. Now I'm thinking of doing a slickside 20" upper so when the AR is finally taken off the R list [we may live that long!] I'll be set...

Probably have to start my own post, but this is in-line with the OP.
I have to choose between:

Barrel Length – 12.75”
Barrel Length – 10.75”

Thoughts?
