He gets horizontally strung groups with his new tokarev.

So, naturally my trigger finger wants to grab with the middle part of my finger instead of the tip. I have to fight my brain to overcome it. Thankfully, I kicked that guys ass and managed some decent groups for a first timer.

I'm guessing my next purchase should be something with a double stack?

Generally I try to control with the tip of the finger but with some guns it's more import to be comfortable and be able to repeat the pull without moving the gun

I KNEW it was going to be about Toks!!
My first thought to your question was: "He can't shoot Tokarev's?"
I've got two of those cool little cannons and they never, ever feel right in my grip.

If you like the cartridge, consider the DA762. MUCH larger grips, but not really surplus ammo friendly in my experience.

Maybe what you need is a 1911 in 7.62x25?

Personally...the last 2 pistols I had, meant for big hands, hk45...huge....and Cz 97b...equally huge....loved them both...just didn't quite fit me...

Nice group.

I wish someone made a mid-range 1911 in 7.62x25. I'd buy it. Too bad the conversion kits are almost impossible to get up here these days

Once I started pulling with the tip of my finger, I got some nice groups. It's simply a matter of mind over body. I bought a crate of ammo, so i should be well practiced by the time it's done. Sure is a nice shooter tho. Accurate, and the trigger pull is really nice.

I have monster mits, to the point where some of the smaller firearms literally disappear in my grip. I shoot a Springfield XD9 Tactical, a Beretta 96, a Sig 1911, and a Ruger GP100 - all of which I find comfortable. The 1911 is superb.

Beretta 92, Sig 226, HK USP will fit you like a glove if you have big mitts. Although I liked my Sig 239 and my SP2022, a thinner grip can be overcome by good ergonomics. Beretta 92 and Sig 226 just 'fit me'. I had a CZ75 and a friend made some thicker grips for me, but the 226 always fit better.

Tokarev is such an overrated pistol with poor ergonomics (I do like the caliber though)... bought one and got rid of it quickly. 1911's have such a thin profile too.

I'll say it, the girls love my big Johnson

I was looking into picking up a colt or GSG 1911-22 next. should probably fit my mitts. Imma handle one next time im at the gun store and see.

The GSG's have a good feel to them, they are not huge, but no trouble to handle with large hands either.
