Squirrel Pot Pie

I really enjoyed that video! I bought both my granddaughters and my hunting partners daughter single shot savage .22's( pink)

I love this bro... I went out and skinned my first squirrel (animal actually) after whatching your previous posts. My kids are all that's gross! But I tell them there may be a time that's all we have so we best learn someday. Are you in Alberta?

You becha, we're in Alberta. Had to laugh about your kids reaction....mine are the polar opposite...

"What's that dad?"

"Do I have one of those in me?"

"Can we see what's inside that?"

"Can I do the cutting?"

Good shooting!

Don't let her do the hunter marksman challenge she will embarrass us all!

I hear you. All three of my ladies (wife and two daughters) take great pleasure out of beating Dad when we do the family rimfire challenge. This year I'm introducing the oldest to a CZ 527 in 7.62x39....suspect it won't be long until she gives me a run for my money on The Hunter Marksman Challenge!

Well done. I hunt with my young daughter and wouldn't trade this time away for anything.

Feel exactly the same way - hands-down the best days of my life.

That's awesome! What does a red squirrel taste like? Not allowed to hunt them here.

Despite their distinctively spruce-y taste, I think they are pretty good. The kids love them too. Wish we had some bigger greys we could hunt, would not need so many to make a meal!

Cheers, and thank you all for your kind comments!

Not that I care but Don't u need a trapping licence to harvest a red squirrel, or is this only true for Ontario ?

Alberta's rules are somewhat strange - on crown land you need to be a licensed trapper, but on private land with permission from the landowner you are good to go for red squirrels.
