New to you CZ858 from Wolverine.

Look through Wolverines posts and they outright stated hat the 958 will not be manufactured at anytime now. That's why they sold them the last of the 858

Plus... Looks real good grelmar!!!!!!

Thanks bfiles... Now I can be just another aging overweight redneck stumbling around the bush with a commie assault rifle. Gotta complete the look, you know.

Oh I wasn't waiting for the 958. I just wanted to read another live feed thread of people all trying to buy the gun at the same time. I'm waiting for the second batch of the Type 81.

If the Type 81 gets here soon... we've been talking about it for 3 years now. I'm sure we're going to see multiple dealers with the Type 81 as well, so it won't be a sh!t show like the Wolverine sale with 1000 people trying for 1 batch of rifles.

Some guy dumped his new 858 on the EE already, for less than the total he paid.

I think that was a great thing for him to do instead of trying to gouge someone. He changed his mind and passed it on to someone else that wanted it. Bravo!

I agree. Wife probably kicked him in the arse when she found out. I wanted one in the beginning but it'll just cost me a fortune when I buy Ironwood Designs wood furniture and then take a couple weeks to finish it... when I just started a Yugo M48 project.

I think this would look good, love their Afromosia wood $35 premium for VZ wood, here it is on an AK:

Maybe I should buy it... because I have a detailed plan made out already.

That's a beaut ST!

Too bad I'll never have that AK and the buyers remorse guy already sold his 858. That would be my plan though, if I bought one - get that wood and get er' done. People are paying big money for surplus beech, might as well pay more and get something that you can hang on the wall after.

Quick family pic, the newest edition is on top. CSA on the bottom with some accessories I had around. I'm keeping the other two stock and unfired.

CSA is in 7.62x39, has only 200 rounds through it, and is solid, zero issues. Compares very nicely to the 858 in almost every way. Now this is my second CSA. The first one I swear had well over 2500 rounds,(almost 2 crates of ammo, all surplus corrosive). I traded it out last year to my neighbour who still shoots it, has to be up to 4k in round count. NEVER had a hiccup or malfunction. Still looks, feels and runs great (tried to buy it back a couple months ago before I just bought a new one).
I always preferred the 858 only for nostalgic reasons mostly, but honestly I do not understand the differences, as I have owned several 858 rifles as well as the two CSA models. All are stellar, in my experience, I truly believe. I know there have been plenty of issues with the .223 calibre, but I have to say the 7.62x39 has been excellent.
Indvidual experiences vary, they always do :)

how many rounds do you have through your CSA, and how is it holding up ?
